Ok so it is below zero around here and besides going out ice fishing once in a while, it is time to do some reel maintenance.
I have a couple of reels, A Shimano Sahara 2000FA and a FX 2000 FA, I know I can rip them a part and figure out how to put them back together again, but I would rather have the documentation on them. I have gone to the Shimano site, but they no longer have those models listed.
Any suggestions on where I can find them. Also what do you suggest as a solvent to remove the grease. Would Hoppies number 9 be ok?
I have seen WD40 get some smack downs in a few articles I have read. What do you suggest instead. Is 3 in one ok? How about gun oil? I have regular reel grease, but I am also thinking about using graphite gun grease, what do you think?
Lastly, I sure hope I can remember my PW so I can find this post again. My GPS coordinates just keep bringing me back to my chair here. :-[
