  1. I love the PA line but want something with a little more length for launching small stuff
  2. I am also considering the 902s NRX+. They feel a little softer than most "2 power mediums". I would probably use it for ned rigs, small swimbaits and slightly heavier hair jigs in the 3/32oz-1/4oz range. (could also be used for a ton of walleye applications as a added bonus). Overall, I have been pretty impressed with the new lineup. I have not fished with any yet but the shop I work at had about a dozen different models show up. Build quality seems a tad better than the original NRX but I did notice a few blemishes on a few rods (nothing real alarming but you would expect better from a $600+ rod). The 901s feels a little soft to me. It would be an awesome dedicated hair jig rod but I think the 902s would be more versatile.
  3. That was the route I am leaning.. Should be available late August. How would you compare the action on the Conquest 902s to the NRX+ 902s? I have not had a chance to get the Conquest in my hands. I know the lure ratings are different between the two. And I always felt that the NRX 902s felt a little on the softer side, more of a medium light. Do you think the conquest would be similar or closer to a more "traditional" 2 power
  4. Looking to add another spinning set up to the arsenal. It will mostly be used for 3/32oz-1/4oz hair jigs, ned rigs and smaller swimbaits. It will most likely be paired up with an 3-4000 Exist. These are the models that I am looking at so far. Would love to hear from anyone with insight on these rods. Open to other recommendations as well. Love the feedback from the BR fam! Conquest 902s NRX+ 902s or 901s Megabass Flyssa Legend Elite 7'6ML Steez AGS 7'6MML
  5. Reeds Outdoors in MN has a couple left in stock. No crazy sales going on right now but they can usually do something for you.
  6. I do like the actions on the tatulas and kages. Bought the gf a tatula xt and fuego combo last year and have fished with it a bit. Nice rod for $99. Hmm good to know. Would you be comfortable throwing a 1/4 or 3/8oz tube on it?
  7. Yeah I have had a chance to play around with the Kage. Seems like a nice rod and a good alternative for guys who dont like the EVA on the tat elites
  8. GetFishorDieTryin- Thanks for the input. You think the Levante Enforcer has a bit more backbone? I would not cast lures over 1/2oz often, mostly vertically jigging them.
  9. Good to know. I will have to add it to my list to check out. Thanks
  10. Please ignore this thread. I accidentally double posted and can not find a way to delete.. Sorry!
  11. Boomstick- Looks like they make a 7'3 M XF that might be right up my alley. Have you or anyone else had a chance to check these out in person?
  12. Hello! I am looking to add another spinning rod to the arsenal and would like to see what you guys think. It will mostly be used for launching tube jigs and some not so finesse techniques for smallmouth. I live in northern MN and this will also double as a walleye rod used for jigging raps and heavier 1/2-3/4oz jigs when the current is moving on Rainy. I would prefer something in the 7'-7'6 range with a little bit of power and looking to spend around $200-250. I am also a guy who likes to "try all the flavors" so would be looking for a brand or lineup I do not already have. Current lineup includes Loomis NRX, Daiwa Steez AGS, Shimano Expride and Poison Adrena, Kistler Helium 3, a few Elliot rods, Fenwick Techna, older St. Croix Premier and a Dobyns Fury. Rods that I have been looking into include Megabass Levante, St. Croix Avid X and possibly something by Dobyns. What else should I consider? Thanks in advance for any recommendations

  14. Yeah I saw the KLX umbrella rig as well. I also saw that that rod was only rated down to 1oz lures which I though was weird since it is a 7'8 heavy moderate action
  15. With the 21% Kistler discount still going on I'm very tempted to pick up a new stick. Earlier this year I picked up a Helium 3 7'1 mhxf for light jigs and t-rigs and love it. Now I'm looking to upgrade my heavy pitching/flipping/punching stick. The 2 rods I'm looking at were known as the Helium 3 MAD series which is a 7'10 heavy moderate action and the KLX Bad Boy which is a 7'11 extra heavy mod-fast. Both rods are rated down to a 3/8 oz lures and up to 3oz on the MAD and 5oz on the Bad Boy I believe. This rod will be pulling double duty for me as my heavy bass rod for pitching and punching around all kinds of cover with 3/8-1.5 oz jigs as well as my pike and early summer muskie rod (lighter cranks, jerkbaits, swimbaits, bucktails and topwater in the 1.5oz to 3oz range). I hear about a lot of guys using moderate action rods for punching but have never used one for anything besides cranks. My question is how will the moderate action respond to pitching around lighter cover and is there any sensitivity lost by using a moderate vs a fast or extra fast? Which of these 2 rods is better suited for this application? Any other input pertaining to these rods or described applications is welcome. Thanks in advance
  16. It seems all the rods in the helium 3 are xf besides the medium lights which are fast. It was between the 7 m xf or 7 mh xf. From what I've found online the mh xf still has a soft enough tip to be used for this application and is rated for lures down to 1/4 oz. Do you have experience with the helium 3 actions? Do you think I'd be better off with then m xf?
  17. Just placed an order for the helium 3 7'1 medium-heavy extra fast on kistlers website for 28% off! Thanks for the input everyone!!
  18. Thank you everyone for the input! I'm going to have to look into the kistler helium 3s
  19. I'm looking for a bottom contact rod in the $200 range. It will mostly be used for small jigs, Texas rigs and some worms and mostly be used around light to medium cover and some docks. I'm currently looking at the discontinued daiwa zillion line as you can still find some relatively cheap. Unfortunately I'm not able to handle the rods in person beforehand. Any recommendations on actions for daiwa? I can find a 7'2 mh xf and a 7 m xf. Open to other rod suggestions as well.
