Tips for driving
Shewwww my first wake experience was on lake Cumberland we was heading head on to eachother and he’s in a big ski type boat I’m in a little 16ft fish and ski boat (my baby) I hit his wake, when I tell you my heart and soul left my body for a minute what a rough ride…I definitely need to learn how to approach wakes. Thank you for the links!

Tips for driving
I’m taking a online boating safety course, roughly 8 hours long and I can honestly say it’s taught me stuff I had no clue about granted it teaches you stuff about huge lakes and boats that I’ll never use but it’s still nice to know…think I’m going to go at speeds I feel comfortable with and not try to keep up with the big dogs on the lake, also going to do as much research as I can before adventuring new lakes.

Tips for driving
Same here on the Kentucky river, mainly fish a place called cedar creek it’s a nice size lake that’s roughly 30-40ft deep but it’s loaded with trees that barely stick up out the water, I’ve seen boats get a good beating hitting one but I’ve also seen people running full throttle and don’t understand how they can see that kinda stuff.

Tips for driving
I’m not %100 that boat does 60, that’s what my garmin unit says I hit but I guess I’m out in the water and see these boats just flying by me I get caught up in the moment and I’m like “yeah I can do that” but think for now on I’m going to keep it around 20-30, I need to fix my gauge cluster for my rpms, sometimes it works and other times it don’t work. What kind of engine you running?

Tips for driving
Yeah, I don’t run 60 all the time, but even at 30 how in the world do people see little trees and stuff sticking out the water? We got a place that’s called cedar creek where I’m from and it’s loaded with trees, but only parts of them stick out the water and it is SUPER HARD to see with the current, etc…idk guess I need better eyes, just scared to be running my boat and mess it all up.

Tips for driving
What are some tips for driving a boat for beginners? I get my boat up to 60 mph then let out of it within a few minutes because I’m always scared I’m going to hit a log or something that’s barely poking out of the water, obviously knowing the lake your fishing at helps a lot, but what are some tips and tricks? Any advice appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes it did, I didn’t have any luck on the river but then again new to fish finders and had no clue what to look for or know where to cast.

Next time I go back I’ll take more screenshots in different views, hopefully I’ll have my livescope by then and it will explain a lot. I’ll keep you updated

Help identify side image?
Ahhh….that’s really helpful thank you! I went back and looked at all the screenshots I took and everyone of them has that dark spot that looks like a road bed, I’m trying to figure that out now…being a river is it possible for a road bed to be under it?

I have no clue it was my first time at this spot, it’s boonesboro boat ramp Kentucky river, there’s a rock quarry beside it, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. How can you judge the size of it? I’ve been trying to learn but I can’t get the hang of it

Help identify side image?
Yes that was my speed, the water I was fishing was the Kentucky river, it was stained water I would say, not really muddy not bad at least. Only access from the bank is all a sand bank then the rest of it is just rock walls all the way down. So how can you tell it’s rocky? I’m trying my best to interpret everything. Here’s another pic correct me if I’m wrong but the more the yellow means rocky bottom right? Or like a hard bottom?

Yeah I wish I had took more pictures, but first thing I said to my brother was it looks like a house, or maybe a mobile home or something the river floods bad that I went to so might got swept away. Idk, looked neat to me but thanks for the help.

Trying to learn how to read side imaging but was curious of what this could be circled in blue, I’m assuming the other picture on the left side is trees?
