I pretty much narrowed it down to this and the Tranx 200. Do you know if there’s a big difference in sizes between the 2? I know for spinning Daiwa is usually bigger than Shimano. It’s petty but I’m just not a big fan of the color on the coastal tbh lol I think I may go for the Tranx. 30lb braid (is this too heavy, too light?) and I’m looking at the Megabass Levante Diablo Spec R rod. What do you think Junger? thanks!

I had no idea the Tranx came in a 200 size because I’ve only heard of the 300 and 400. I think I’ll definitely do the 200 Tranx now. What’s the lowest lure weight you think I can throw on it is?

I’ve read that, are there any sealed baitcasters?

Thank you for the heads up!! I’m new to baitcasters so it’s a whole different world. I’ll definitely take that into consideration. I was looking through my tackle earlier and I’m mostly throwing 1/4-1/2 oz so I’ll probably look for a medium rod

It’s been about a year since I started fishing and I’m picking up a Curado DC as my first baitcaster! I really want to get the most out of my gear though so I was thinking about getting a rod that I could use inshore throwing soft plastics and twitch baits. The issue is I want a versatile bass rod, something I can throw Texas rigged plastics, lipless cranks, jigs, and maybe topwater. But when I’m inshore fishing, I’m throwing 1/8 to 1/2 oz at most. What rod do you guys recommend that covers that entire range? another question, if you guys had the chance to buy a Curado DC for $190 or a Curado K for $120, which one would you get for what I’m using it for? Planning to pair with 20# braid

I was actually in your shoes up until today around 6 PM. I’m shore based and my local lake is filled with bass and the fishing has been great up until a month ago. Before that, I could throw stick worms and catch a 2-3 lber every other cast and 5+ every few days or so. Now I’m catching a dink once every half hour or so. Nothing over 3 lb in three weeks. Same for everyone fishing the lake, no one has reported anything like we saw before. That led me to trying new things, chatterbait, jigs, Carolina rigged plastics, soft swimbaits, I even threw some of my saltwater stuff. Still nothing all weekend. I decided to throw a red eye shad lipless crank and immediately I noticed how much farther I was casting so I was covering new ground. I was able to work some angles and get it to the other side of an island I fish around. 5.5 lb monster first cast. Next cast an even bigger one hit it but I had to pay the tax man (alligators) right at the shore. Bass got away with the crank and the gator cut my line trying to bite him off. I went to buy two more after that. Hopefully I can find him again tomorrow and get that thing out. I’m a very rookie bass angler but the lipless crank is definitely one of my confidence lures now, it ended a drought for me

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has replaced the hooks on their crank baits? I’ve been staying away from hard plastics for a while now because I hate how treble hooks snag on to everything and I always seem to get them caught on everything. Today I tried a strike king lipless crank bait and I brought in a lot of grass with it every cast. For inshore fishing I’ve replaced trebles with in line hooks and I just ordered #1 in line hooks and was wondering if I could use them on my 1/2 oz lipless crank baits or would that change the action of the lure? I feel a lot more confident with the single hooks but can’t find much info on it for bass fishing.

Two of my bigger catches this past weekend. If you guys had to guesstimate, how much do you think they weigh?

I'll do a better job next time at documenting my catches with more specifics measurements and report back! I guess it does sound crazy but I have no reason to lie lol. It's a conservation area that is well monitored and nurtured by the university. During the weekly surveys researchers do, multiple 9-10 lb are caught and occasionally I've seen some over 13. These are electrofished, weighed, sometimes tagged or have certain tests are done on them so there's no imagination involved there.

Yesterday I saw that happened quite a few times. Worm flew off on a cast and a bass hit it as it sunk

It’s a 120+ acre lake so a bit bigger than a usual pond. The school also does a lot of research on the fishes in the lake, a lot are tagged. I forgot to mention this but alligators are a huge concern so I try to avoid topwater and even spinner baits sometimes brings a lot of attention. Today I had a 5' gator try to sneak up on me while I was reeling in my worm

Do you have any recommendations on jigs or craws? I've never used them before but I'd like to start! Also I'm using a 6" stick bait, should I try the 7" ones? Will those still work wacky rigged or should I fish them weightless? Thank you!
