I'm not trying to be sacreligious here, but I have a question regarding motors. I purchased a new Lowe Jon Boat, the 1448MT. Nice and wide. I am going to convert it to bass fishing. This will be my second project. Anyhow, I am at a dilemna: Do I purchase a gas motor, or go with twin electrics on the back. Cost is an issue, which is why I am thinking about electric. Usually there are only two or three (max) on the boat. It will have floor, deck, and sides installed, so the weight will increase. I fish in a few of the electric-only lakes but also head down to the Hooch as well. I've recently seen a similar set up but my concern is the weight of the boat. Any thoughts/tips?
