  1. Not sure that the braid vs FC would be the issue. My buddy had it happen with braid and with FC on his two reels that have had the issue.
  2. I have 9 of the DC's and 6 of the K's. They are both great reels but I would say that the DC is worth the extra money although you don't need it for every application. There are many applications where the K's by far are better and more cost effective option (heavier baits like big spoons, C-Rigs, Big Cranks, heavy topwaters, big jigs, etc...). However, if you are flipping, throwing spinnerbait/topwaters in the wind, throwing smaller / mid size crankbaits in the wind, thowing weightless worms/senkos or basiclly any lighter bait the DC is bad to the bone. However, if the line starts getting caught up in the thumb bar then I would say I agree that the DC is not worth the money.
  3. 2 of my fishing buddies have had the same issues with their Curado DC reels. One of them had it happen twice, once on two different reels (he has bought 10 of them). The other guy has had it happen once on the one reel that he purchased. I put a post on a local forum (***) and another guy said he had the same issue. The line gets caught / stuck in between the thumb bar and the side of the right side plate. It happens during casts and when it happen you can’t get it out without cutting the line. I too have 9 of these reels now and I was concerned so I called Shimano and they said they weren’t aware of any problems like that. I only fish about 10 days per year so my reels aren’t used that frequently. Is anyone else having this issue?
