I myself tried to start a club at my school. I got everything together (approval etc.) but it never came due to class load, work, life etc. One of the ideas that I got from some of the other school clubs that I talked with was a "paper tournament". Basically everyone has a date, start time, and a partner that is close in local. You fish with a partner to keep you honest. You all fish different bodies of water that you know and log your success. Results are accepted until a certain time the day of the tourny and are submitted to the tournament director by the predetermined time. It is a way for people to get out on the water, meet their club members and still fish no matter where they are. I thought it was a good idea. Hope this helps.
