I’m looking for a rod specifically for ned rigging. I’ve dedicated almost all of my fishing to it in the past year and a half. I’m looking for a rod where the tip is so light the fish can bite and run but not feel the weight of the rod. Ideally, it should have enough power in the butt section to fight a fish. Does anyone know any rods like this?

I’m curious as to whether or not any of you have got river smallmouth action as of late. If you have any reports or insight as to river smallmouth in the coming weeks, that would be great. I generally fish the Rocky River (Lakewood OH) for smallies, but there has been a few murders and robberies in the park recently so I want to find a new spot for a little while. Does anyone know any other good smallie rivers or different river stretches in the rocky that are productive?

Hair jigs don’t need a trailer because their action comes from the soft moving deer hair which would normally imitate some sort of baitfish. Silicone just adds bulk and doesn’t have as good of an action on its own as real hair. That is why a soft plastic is used with silicone.

I’m fairly new to fishing and I would like advice regarding searchbait. I fish mostly rivers for smallmouth and I have been doing pretty good on the ned rig, tube, and Neko rig. However, none of these lures cover water really well. What searchbaits do you guys recommend. I’m open to try anything

I’m planning on switching to braid for finesse fishing. There is a million colors and I am puzzled as to which one to pick. Any input?
