Dobyns Fury light power
Looking for a light power rod to add to my arsenal. Mainly trout but could be walleye too. What are your thoughts on this rod? Never heard of Dobyns until coming to this site. I like st Croix rods but thought maybe switching it up this time.

Spiderwire line
That abrazx might be the way to go. Especially when it’ll be rubbing on ice. The Smackdown sounds like a good on as well. Might have to look into it more. My local store only has Seaguar invizix

Spiderwire line
I’ve never used fluorocarbon line before but wanted to try something that sinks faster for ice fishing. And i I think I’m going to try the power pro super slick for my next braid.

Spiderwire line
Ok thanks. Since were on the topic I picked up some fluorocarbon today for my lighter ice rods. 4lb line. I bought seaguar. Any thoughts on seaguar brand lines? $19.99 for 200 yards. Or is Berkley vanish just as good for $10 for 300yards?

Spiderwire line
Ok now that I have baitcasters and what not I might be getting on the braided bandwagon. Thoughts on spiderwire? Walmart has their EZ Braid for $12.98 for 300 yards. Or what are your thoughts on Camo blue Stealth. Gets a lot of good reviews. Supposedly it blends well in many water conditions.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
I also own several st Croix rods and none make the noise of this one. I emailed st Croix so I’ll wait to see what they have to say.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
I checked my guides and none were missing. I guess I’ll have to look closer for gouges and cracks. It’s a brand new st Croix avid x. It has those kigan micro guides. Maybe it’s just because of those? I don’t know.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
It’s not quiet on my reel. Quite loud actually. I read that over time it can get quieter? Also if I grab the line in front of the reel and slide it back and forth through the guide there’s a decent amount of noice. I also get noise with the mono but not as loud.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
Seems pretty loud to me. Part of it could be the line guides too.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
UPDATE: The new Tatula CTR showed up. Got the 50lb 832 on and I got it casting really good. No backlashes! (Yet). However is braid louder than mono when reeling in? Seems to be quite a bit louder than my Pflueger supreme with 12lb mono.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
Went to the store after work and apparently 40# braid is popular around here. Sold out of most brands. So I got some 50# 832. I’ll give this a whirl and see how I like it. At 12# diameter I should be able to get about 140yards on the reel I ordered. Tatula CT type R. Hopefully it makes a good combo.

Thoughts on 832 superline?
Ok. I’m thinking on going 40lb

Thoughts on 832 superline?
Ordered a reel last night and decided I’ll go with braid. Never used braid before. Heard some good things about the 832 line. What do you guys think? Or any spiderwire braids worth the money as well? Blue Camo seems popular with SW. and miss green seems to be an all around popular color. Using with mainly spoons, Rapala, large mepps style spinners, maybe some Crankbait.

Heavy braid or lighter mono for setup?
They not selling very well lately or what? I figured the store just wants to start dumping summer stock items for fall inventory

Heavy braid or lighter mono for setup?
Funny thing not long after asking about the Abu a local shop advertised on the radio all In stock Abu Garcia reels 50% off. Can get that revo sx for $79.99. Or a much higher end for half off. Depending on what’s in stock for left hand for me anyway.
