Anyone go leaderless?
I used leaders in my braid until I hooked into the biggest largemouth of my life and snap goes my leader. Some will probably say it was my fault for tying a bad knot and it could have been. A lot of guys use a leader to often break off if need be until it breaks when you don’t want it to. Leaders are another point of failure that’s just my opinion, but then again leaders are very tough and some huge fish have been caught with them so your choice.

Guess I wasn’t that lucky lol Good to hear. I was considering stepping up to 20 in the future.

Sniper FC too much memory
Like I said, the spool of sniper i bought must have been a bad spool and that is why it was like a slinky coming off my reel. The spool of Invizx i bought seems to be nice and i have not had any problems with it so far. I am sure that a good spool of sniper and a good spool of invizX are equal quality. Also, roger that I will consider big game. I spooled up my jig rod with 15 pound invizX and you are right it is very "supple" for being 15 pound line, and so far I haven't noticed how it is not very "abrasion resistant" despite what other people say, and I have drug it through a lot of trees in the past week and over some rock.

Bought some invizx and i like it so far, i definitely like it more than the sniper so far, however i did get a bad spool. But that 1000 yard spool of Trilene will still be less expensive that 165 yards of sniper that is in a box after a week...

thinking about just respooling everything back to mono.

Sniper FC too much memory
i have a little bit of space left on the spool but it’s hard to tell... I’ve been using reel snot cause it’s the only conditioner that the places around me had.

yeah I figured... I emailed sunline about it. Nothing will probably come out of the email but it’s worth a try.

7’3” or 7’6” for jigs
I’m using a 7’3” fury right now my for my jigs and texas digs and it’s working just fine. I’m selling it to a buddy and buying another rod to use for jigs and t-rigs but I am unsure on whether to buy another 7’3” or 7’6”. I am about 5’11” if that has anything to do with it. what do you guys think would be better from a comfort and accuracy standpoint?

never thought of this... How SHOULD i spool the line? It’s spooled pretty evenly as far as i can see

I might have to make that move if the memory doesn't get under control. As it gets colder the last thing I want is a slinky of flourocarbon coming off my reel.

Roger that. Being 17 with no job cause of school, $30 for a spool of FC really hurts haha. I imagine it will work itself out no big deal. Thanks!

Yep it was spooled up fine. It even had the little sticker holding the line in the notch (if you know what im talking about lol). Ive caught a couple fish on it so far and it feels more sensitive than my red label, especially on chatterbaits, which is what I upgraded from.

Gforce vs fury
Never used a GForce, but I can vouch for the Fury's. I have a 7'3'' Heavy for my jigs and I beat the brakes off that rod to the point where there is no paint left on the tip. I've even got it caught up in my trolling motor and it survived. Send it!

Bought it off amazon. Think it might be fake? I was going to get some at bass pro, but I ordered it instead. The packaging and everything seemed to be the same?

What kind of baits to use on a muddy bottom?
So i have a private pond that everyone shares in my neighborhood, it’s around 25 acres and 20 feet deep at certain points. It’s a great pond with plenty of structure but the bottom is straight muck and mud to the point where in shallow water my trolling motor will throw mud from the bottom so weights sink in it. 10 acres of it used to be lilypads but they died off. The muddy bottom really limits the potential in my opinion because the only thing me and my neighbor have been successful with is weightless worms which gets repetitive after a while. I’ve fished crankbaits, chatterbaits (which have worked nicely), texas rigs (which get stuck), jigs (which get stuck), poppers, and attempted frogs but there is not much vegetation so they don’t get bit. I’ve fished jigs in other rocky water and enjoyed it and wish i could fish them in my pond. is there a certain type of head i can use or weight to be able to fish them effectively? or any other baits beside weightless worms? The fish are not the problem i can catch 10-20 in the afternoon on the worms but it gets very repetitive. Big fish are in there too, I have caught a couple 5 and 6 pounders so far this summer and missed one that was probably a citation and not to mention my neighbor caught one that was 14 pounds (yeah, seriously). Anyways back on track does anyone have suggestions for baits i could start to throw or some tips or techniques to fish weighted despite the mud?

Roger that. Just bought some line conditioner, hope it fixes it up.

Sniper FC too much memory
I bought some sunline sniper (16lb. test) about 2 weeks ago to try flipping jigs with it, and i really like it. However, the memory on it is awful. It is acting like heavy mono coming off the my tatula like a slinky. I’ve been steady fishing it almost everyday for 2 weeks now and everywhere I read, the sniper is supposed to be very user friendly with not a lot of memory but mine does. Anyone know why or how to fix it ?
