  1. there is a difference between the tension of your cables and how easy the foot pedal moves. cable tension is how tight the cables are. like a loose chain on a chain saw. i have my foot pedal turned over as i speak and i see the tension adjustment. it is for cable slack. if you over tighten it it will wear out the pulleys. great discussion though. mark
  2. i did look into the manual. the only adjustment under the pedal is the cable slack tension. manual said to adjust steering tension hand operated models only. this is what they want you to buy. https://hydrillagear.com/products/th-marine-g-force-troll-perfect-for-motorguide-x3-5-red . i went to the home depot plumbing supplies and built my own. if i'm wrong then send me a link on how to adjust it so i can adjust mine. thanks,
  3. i went there 2 weeks ago and didn't put in. i have a 17.5 bass boat and it was so low i didn't put in. i have heard that the fishing is good there.
  4. i joined this forum just to reply to your post. i have a 17.5 bass boat with a x3 70lbs. 24volt. i really like the power and speeds but a problem for me and others is that you cannot set the drag on your foot pedal. it is really easy to move the pedal and for me i will oversteer the motor. they do sell a aftermarket contraption to be able to adjust the drag but why pay 40 dollars for something that should be built in. i have searched the web on this and it is a known problem. so i actually copied the part they sell and it works for me but if i was to do it over i might look at another brand. good luck, mark
