i always keep my rod tip up, dont let the line slack. loose line enables the fish to shake the jig, and maybe with that added weight of the head they can throw it.

i usually use it with a grub tail. if you get a hit and miss the fish you can let it fall and it flutters down, then jig it and a fish will usually come back for it a second time.

i will second the helicopter lure, that thing was retarded.
