  1. I'm no expert but, centrifugal brakes, which Shimano uses, do apply the most braking at the highest spool speeds, which are at the beginning of the cast. Right?
  2. I've heard this before. Is this really a thing?
  3. I bought a 2500 BG and then returned it for a 2500 Legalis LT. Feels much better on my 6,6 light rod. I would suggest checking out the LT reels, and maybe stick with 2500 size for it's line management benefits.
  4. Try loosening the spool tension. Whoops, I see you already tried that, sorry.
  5. Good point. It would be easier on my untrained thumb, to master one reel.

  7. I started fishing last year, and the tackle monkey has ridden me to buy 3 reels, all 7to1 ratio, that I have been rotating between my 2 rods, a heavy, xfast and a med heavy, fast. I'll probably be buying another. The reels are a Bantam, Curado K, and a Metanium DC. I'm a bank fisherman. And enjoy all techniques. I would like to know how you guys would pair up these reels and what would be their best uses.
