Has anyone heard of the Lightning Cull scale? I can't find any info on it. It is supposed to be a new product.

Finesse Rod Build
How does the MHX Elite series compare to the Point Blank 701mlf?

Finesse Rod Build
I am looking to build a spinning finesse rod for myself. What power and action do you recommend? Also, any preferred blank manufacturer would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Carbon grip sensitivity
So what are your opinions. Are carbon (CFX / Forecast) grips more sensitive than EVA or cork grips?

Wrapping a tip top
Any "tips" on wrapping the tip top? Although it gets harder wrapping guides as you go towards the tip, Injust can't figure out what the best way to wrap the tip is. It's only supported on one side of it and not very stable. Any help would be appreciated.

Guide wrap length
How far off the guide foot do you start your wrap? Is it just personal preference or is there a functional reason?

Writing on rod blanks
Making for family and friends I think it's more meaningful. Maybe it's just me.

Writing on rod blanks
I'm just wondering what everyone is using to hand write on a blank. I know I can get labels, but I like the personal touch of writing.

High or low
What are you using, high build or low? Why do you prefer one over the other? If you use both, what are the situations you would use high over low and visa versa. Is it just the look or is it a functional reason?

Blank recommendations
That's why I was asking the question. I'm kinda lost as to what would be good for that combo. Thanks for the suggestion.

St. Croix Legend Extreme
It's a 7'6", med/hvy, mod/fast action.

St. Croix Legend Extreme
I just had a guy drop off a St. Croix Legend Extreme rod to have a hook keeper installed. I didn't know much about this rod, but he told me it's a $600+ rod. What makes this rod so expensive and what would be a comparable rod blank to build this quality of a rod?

Shortening a rod blank
So, you don't think removing 3" from the butt will affect the power?

Shortening a rod blank
I know it can be and is done all the time, but what is the affect on the blanks action. I'm building a couple of rods. Both blanks are 7', one being fast action and the other is moderate fast action. Both rods a medium heavy power. Because of deck space, I need to shorten both of them at least 3". I don't think taking material of of the butt changes anything in the action, but to what degree will it affect the power?
