Is this crazy? I don't really have any other options...
So many stupid rules ..There is something , no ****, called the Island Beautification committee, and they pressure hoa's and make town rules to keep the area quaint and clean and I dunno but it is dumb. Like businesses can't have light up signage only wooden signage with lights pointing at the sign - all sorts of nonsense - but then again the island is quite classy for the most part - not a lotta panama city beach types around ...maybe i should just move hahah

Great idea! and naw its just a 100 lb 10 ft piece of aluminum hull lol I plan to get a proper set up in 3 years when my truck is paid off but I just can't wait that long and expenses are pretty bare bones as it is. I think i might be able to convince my dad to move some of his boxes from his 11x7 storage space into my spare room so I can use the ground level storage space for a boat - Even still its only 11 feet so my boat options are stilll limited and it seems like a 11ft RIB out preforms all other small vessels in everything except "puncture resistance" lol This is what I currently use - I def need more space lol I would like a Jon boat for sure but I was told by locals that I would have to get welded one which would cost about the same if not more than the RIB And the specs I have seen shows the RIB to out preform the Jon in everything except puncture resistance and lifespan, and maybe Jon has a shallower draft since the RIB has a V hull. I expect the RIB to be a learning experience and not last forever and when I pay off my truck in a few years put the motor on a larger boat using what I have learned as guidance ? There is a huge community of SIB/RIB owners I found so the inflate/deflate can't be that horrible! lol Cheers and thank you! HOA is ASS - anyone close enough to ask has a no boat parking rule as well unless in a closeable garage - same with motorcycles for that matter - I can store mine since I own but renters cannot unless their only form of transpo

Seems after all this I might be able to store IN my truck bed when I know I will be going out a bunch and only have to hoist it for longer term storage. Boat is 39 in wide and truck bed is 41.5... O yeah i never planned on asking but will just try to be discrete -ninja style... how loud is a small electric hoist? lol Will do!

Unfortunately other than general exploring those are all the reasons I want a boat hahha There is not assigned parking but that would be so much easier ... so this would all be incognito F the HOA lol

hahaha reading that with your profile pic right next was too funny! thanks - i may just see if it will fit in the truck bed and cover it up and just deal with the shorter life span due to always being hot and humid...

I own the place but still because of the hoa I want to get the single point - portable hoist so the only thing permanently there would be a little eye hook (i decided on a lower profile one.) ? Cheers!

It does indeed - I've paddled kayaks and sups for 6 years hear and I really want to explore with the range of an outboard and carry more stuff like casting nets and crab pots and big ole cooler / maybe even gear for an overnight trip once in a while. ? But they are certainly much easier to throw in the truck! haha Ive explored as far as human power can reach though... Like Ricky Bobby says "I wanna go fast" ? Cheers!

Hey y'all - hoping you can help. I am looking for my first boat but I cannot afford local storage. I was hoping to set up a cheap electric hoist system so I can store something in my spare room. I would love a welded john 14 feet or so but my storage limitations have led me to a rigid hull inflatable. The Zodiac Cadet Alu RIB 360 to be excact. I don't do a lot a fishing but I will be doing a lot of shell fishing and shrimping. sorry I had no where else to turn! haha So I have to get this 10 foot (once defalted) hull up to my apartment and this is how I plan to do it. I have nice access right to my front door seen here - and would attach the hoist around where the blue x is and well, you can image the rest. It will take some learning but in the end I hope it wont be much more hassle than dealing with a trailer and driving to and from the boat storage lot before each use. Plus as I mentioned it is kinda my only option. Not to mention getting 15hp 4 stroke up there too Using an attachment point like that I guess and an electric single point hoist What do yall think, crazy? Thanks - Cheers!
