Diawa BG 1000 vs. 1500 for Small Creek Fishing
BG 1500 should be more than enough. I use the 2500 to fish for Snook and Redfish around the docks and in the mangroves for comparison, so the 1500 should handle anything in a creek!

Greetings from Florida!
Sorry guys, probably should have worded that differently ? I'm from Brandon, Florida (small city outside of Tampa). Didn't know if any other members were in the area lol. My actual name is Tim, nice to meet y'all!

Am I Using The Right Rod?
Sorry! Forgot to note I'm throwing them weightless, with either a EWG or wacky hook. I believe they're about 3/8oz even still. Good to know. What line do you use? Interesting point. I use braid with fluoro leader on my inshore setup, but I didn't want to fuss with a leader on this one and wanted a line with a little give, but not as much as traditional mono.

Am I Using The Right Rod?
So I treated myself to an upgraded rod/reel setup this last month and decided to go with a 7' ML/F St. Croix Premier with a Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 spooled with 8lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I primarily want to fish 4" senkos and the 2 3/4" Yo-Zuri 3DS Minnows but I'm wondering if I shouldn't have gone with a medium instead? The 4" senkos feel solid and like I could cast them just fine on a medium but the 3DS are pretty lightweight. Even though my goal is just to have a good time and not really trying to trophy hunt, I'm wondering if I'm a little undergunned?

Greetings from Florida!
Brandon to be exact. Not a lot of big water opportunities for bass fishing near me (relatively speaking) but there are some nice rivers; I spend most of my time on the Alafia, Little Manatee and Hillsborough rivers if anyone has any pointers. My Grandpa taught me to bass fish with little 4" & 6" weedless rigged worms on Zebco 33's when I would spend the summers in Tifton, GA and I guess the "finesse" aspect of it just stuck with me, I prefer small lures, light line and a laid back approach to bass fishing.
