how to make bass hit
hey there brother, I tried the slugo technique, with no hits. I tried the same thing you did, twitching it to make it look like an injured bait fish.

how to make bass hit
well thanks guys for the replies, actually the water is stained a light green to brown color. and the bass that I saw were within 10 feet from the shore line laying in an area where the sun had been hitting for a few hours but that the wind did not get to. for this purpose I think that a crank bait or even a jig would not work considering that when it hits the water the splash would probably spook the fish. Although I did not try a popper and it may have worked. the truth is these bass were tight up in cover and they were also under some algea that had gethered 3 feet off the shore line, when I ran my plastic worm over the algea I could notice water movement underneath, but no top water strikes. I figured in this location and time plastic worms would work the best cause I could finesse the worm and not have to keep it moving. As with a crank bait. I did try a jerk bait, 6in husky jerk suspending lure, but this did not entice a hit either. What about a spinnerbait is it too early in the season or could I coax a bass to strike it? I had already caoght 2 2.5 to 3 pound bass this year on plastic worms, but maybe it was just one of those days. :'( I need to broaden my horizons a little a try some new techniques so if anyone wants to share I would be more thatn happy to hear from anyone, Thanks again boys.

how to make bass hit
I was walking around a pond I know of last week and came across a good stretch of water that got a lot of sun and no wind, I saw a bunch of nice sized bass there. I tried to fish for them But there was too much cover, and the bass saw me coming 25 feet ahead. So yesterday i took my kayak out there and came in from behind them, I saw a few bass not near as many as I saw from the shore, maybe they were there and I couldnt see them from the yak, as the shore was 15 feet up from the water. So the problem is I could not get any bass to hit. I stayed in that spot for 2 hours watching the bass move around and keeping just under some cover. I tried a 7in power worm and a 4in senko, and some other soft plastics, even trie twitching a jerk bait horizontal to some of the weeds there, but nothing. I was fishing there from 2:00 to about 4:30. cant imagine why they wouldnt hit, the day before yesterday I cought a 2.5 pounder on the senko worm. can someone give me some tips on how I might be able to get thses bass to hit? Thanks guys

buzzbaits and spinnerbaits
one question what time of year is best to fish the spinnerbait and buzzbait, I know that for resavoirs spawn is good if you are fishing from shore to use spinnerbaits, but what about lakes and ponds is it all year round or just certain times of the year??? thanks again guys

INFRARED THERMOMETER
hey guys I was wondering, I have been thinking about maybe getting an INFRARED THERMOMETER so I can keep track of what temprture I am catching bass during the next couple of months, so I can record the information for next year. I noticed doug hannon said he used an inferared thermometer that had a distance of 500 feet, well i dont need that but I would like one with a distance of at least 50 feet, I checked out cabelas and bass pro shops, but the infrared thermometers they have dont say how far away they can detect. can anyone give me some advice or suggestions as to what to buy. thanks guys again :-[ http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=91529&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0042282018711a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=thermometers&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=thermometers&noImage=0

what size lures
hey I just bought a baitcaster for the purpose of worm fishing, I use a 3/16 ounce bullet sinker and I guess the worm adds a little weight, but I have no problem casting that set up

worm colours
when It comes to worms I use red shad and black, as far as water color these colors have been effective for me in clear water as well as muddy green and brown water. also yammamoto senko color 022 black with large blue flake is a killer here in jersey

Baitcasting 101
I am tying the uni knot with the braid 5 times and it seems to hold good enough, I casted with it like almost 300 times and came home and the double uni knot help to perfection, the only thing is that on the braid side you need to tie a locking knot, wich is really just three turns and tighten on the braid side Ill find a url and post it it helps so the braid doesnt frey and pull the knot apart.

Braid?
hey flyphisher check this out, I started using suffix braid last year, I never used braid before so It was kind of a test. at the same time I started using it, i noticed there were a lot of carp in the local small river by my house thatwere coming up from a bigger river to spawn. so I started using the suffix braid with a hook and some berries that were falling off the trees. no wieght just a hook and a berry, I cought so many carp last year like 4 to 5 everyday I got tired of it, it was too good to be true. but the point I am going to make was that this river had a tone of trees on the shore line, so when I would hook a carp they would run down river for like 150 to 200 feet and I would fight them with the line pulling throgh the trees and walk all over the shore line pulling throgh branches and even logs or trees that had fallen down and the braid never broke and Im talking decent carp mostly 6 to 10 pounds but I did get one just under 15 pounds, the biggest fish I ever cought in my life, I just happened to get a picture of it too, but I dont know how to post pics on this site so I cant show you, but hands down suffix braid is tough and durable. I would never switch to anything else. ANd I use a leader of flurocarbon when I am fishing plastic worms, I use the double uni knot with 4 wraps for the 20 pound fluro and 5 or six wraps for the braid, holds tight. I even tested it by going out practice casting in the water for a good 2 to 300 casts, and then came home and tested the strength after the knot had been pulled through the eyelets soo many times, and the knot still held tight. But I have also fished texas style without a leader, and the wieght never degraded the braid so I dont think theres anything to worry about with suffix braid, awsome line.

quick remedy for guys that cant afford bass boats
I actually had a inflatable boat, a sevalor ft325, it was ok but it took a lot of time to pump it up and deflate and get ready to go out, I had a great setup, I always go prepared. I had it so I could roll it and my gear out to the lake and then I had a battery pump that was able to fill it most of the way, and the rest I inflated it with a river boat pump. Than I had a trolling motor that ran off a marine deep cycle battery. I had made a custom floor board out of plywood that I polyurethaned to stand and fish. I have to admit it was a lot more stable than the kayak, but as far I as taking it out and fishing the kayak is a lot better. I go to the lake drop the kayak off and thats it, no inflating, and then when Im done deflating and putting it in the bag and rolling it to the carwas rough. Plus the kayak went just as fast as the trolling motor if not faster, the only thing the wind still sucks in the yak, I suggest anyone that is getting a yak to fish with get an 8 pound river anchor, hard to find but does the trick in 20 mph gusts. and the yak was great for get up and go, no worrying about batteries charged I could hit 2 lakes in a day if I wanted maybe even 3 if it got bad. In all inflatable score 4 out of 10- hobie mirage fisherman kayak 10 out of 10, but the raft is only 400 dollars, later guys

invisable leader that is muskie proof
hey thanks for the info, but Im not actually going for muskie, I am actually going for bass, but there have been times where pickreal and even muskie have taken my lure. So when I saw the program and they said the week before that they talked about invisable leaders for muskie, right awayI thought that was the solution to my problem from unexpected pickreal and muskie. I just cant find the clip from the show that talked about invisable leaders that were muskie proof. and to my knowledge flurocarbon Is prcticly invisable in water, because it has almost the same light refraction as water, so I would consider that almost invisable.

quick remedy for guys that cant afford bass boats
well to be honest that is one of the only problems is the weeds. the peddle drive system doesnt do very well when it comes to that. But most of the time I am not kayaking directly in the weeds, I am 10 to 15 feet in front of them and I cast right on the weed line, but there have been times where I needed to go through weeds to get to another location, and the good thing is you can just unlock the peddle drive system and pull the whole thing up so its not in the water and then just paddle through the weeds and then drop the peddle drive system right back in when you are done. so its a quick fix and it only takes seconds to unlock the peddles, so its not a huge problem. and by the way if you get a hobie with the peddle system you dont really need a narrow kayak because the peddles move the kayak so efficiently. Hey I was very unsure at first aswell, but if you do decide to get a hobie with the peddle drive system, you wont regret it.
