  2. Three years ago, a buddy and I went to Lake Okeechobee fishing in late Feb. We weren't catching many fish. While cleaning the few we did catch, two fellow walked up with two five gallon buckets full of Oscars. I had never heard of an Oscar! They told us, go to Holiday Park, on Hwy 27 just south of I 75. We did. We went about 4-5 miles into the everglades and started fish the edges around trees in or over the water. We caught 72 fish. We ran out of a place to put them. The next day we were better prepared. We caught 147. All caught on Bream Busters, using minnows, crickets, & worms. Minnows seemed to be the favorite bait. All were caught in one area less than 100 yds long. Needless to say we go at least once or twice a year. My question is, can they be caught in early October? Dennis in Ga.
