As the president of a regional bass club association, I can tell you that one of the biggest issues bass clubs ask about is liability insurance. They're usually looking for a reasonable premium with not too many restrictions on how they go about holding their tournaments & meetings. A national organization may be able to get them the low rates they're looking for. Another thing they'd wonder about is the cost (if any) of belonging to this new association. If it's something that has sponsors who cover any overhead, that's great. If a club or individual member dues payment is expected, some may be reluctant to get involved, unless they see it being worth the expense. [I did receive your email regarding this subject.
