  1. @Delaware Valley Tackle I tried to send you a PM and it wouldnt let me. Let me know how you want to attempt to diagnose this real and see if its worth repairing.
  2. I think i know the springs you are talking about but when I took it apart they were both intact. Maybe one is not sitting correctly. I may take another look. Thanks!
  3. I thought that at first but I can remove the pawl entirely and it still stick at about the same exact point each rotatioin. I dont mind sending it out but at around $80-100 to replace, not sure its worth the cost. Thanks for the link though to the repair shop. Its actually only about an hours or so away from my home.
  4. My Fuego will completely lock up on a retrieve and I am unable to reel without messing with it (depress thumb bar etc). It appears to be worse with heavier lures. It seems to happen mainly at the 9 oclock to 10 oclock position of the handle. I have another Fuego that is much smoother, this one seems to stick at certain spots and has more resistance when reeling. I have dis-assembled it all the way to the internal gears (as far as I was comfortable going) on the handle side and didnt see any obvious issues. I have oiled the bearings and other areas Daiwa recommends but didnt fix the issue. Thought I would ask on here before moving on and turning it into a parts reel for my other Fuegos.
  5. I did go out and get some 50lb braid. Still surprised even after setting the hook a couple times on a retrieve i wasn't able to land a fish. i can see how the double weedless over the back needs a powerful hook set but i have a single trailer too that is the size of a 3/0 - 4/0 hook that still wasnt able to get the job done.
  6. Wow! Ok loud and clear and makes sense. I just got the baitcaster and the mono was just temporary while I learned how to use it. I will plan on getting some braid.
  7. Been fishing a hollow bodied frog (Booyah pad crasher) lately and it seems like the fish is hooked but I lose it after a short fight or even halfway back to the boat. I can feel the size and the weight of the fish. I can even get a second tug in to try and make sure the hook is set. I think I am doing things right as far as waiting to set the hook until I am sure they have it. A bit perplexed why I keep losing them. I added a trailer hook to the frog and wondering if that is causing the issue? I am using a MH - F action rod with a baitcaster spooled just with 12lb mono for now. A little frustrating since I am waiting for the hook set and think I have it only to lose the fish a little while after.
