  1. Went today from 10-1 and caught 3 small mouth. From 11:30-12:30 is when I caught all 3 using Zoom trick worms in watermelon. I noticed though as it got warmer, nothing was biting. Maybe I needed heavier sinkers, at this time the watermelon worms stopped working as well. I switched to black/red glitter and aimed for shady areas, and had a few bites. But after a while it was too nice and I went back home to the pool. 8-)
  2. Maybe the bites were blue gills. Or seaweed and tree branches. :'( Anyways, I'm going to make notes of some of the articles and take them with me as a guide.
  3. Talk about bad luck. I went out from 12-4 and didn't catch a thing. I went to a pond and if you walked half way around, you could fish off the banks into deeper water. I had a few bites with spinner baits, but I could never tell when it was time to set the hook. I wonder if the hooks were too big? Size 2 I think. Even with all the colored worms I had, nothing. Probably didn't rig the correctly. Maybe they just weren't biting that much, or I wasn't getting towards the deeper waters. I'm going back tomorrow probably from 9-1. Can anyone give me tips on what colors and baits to use? How long I'm supposed to wait each cast etc... I'm going to read some articles now, but I take all the advice I can get.
  4. Should I keep my plastics in the storage boxes, or sealed in the bags?
  5. LOL that $60 budget went right out the window. I must have bought half of BPS on my Visa. Too bad there isn't a local store. I tried to get a little of everything. I know there are somethings I missed that I'll get in the next round. I'm just going to list everything. Stradic/XPS combo, 6'6" Medium Gamma HP Copolymer 6lbs/clear, 330yds BPS 360 Tackle Tote w/ 360 trays Gamakatsu EWG Worm Hook #3/0 25pk Storm WildEye Swim Shad 4" (shad, goldfish) X-Rap Xtreme Slashbait 3-1/8" (purple gold, glass ghost) Pop-R Plus 2-1/2" (Tennesse shad) BPS Enticer Jig (black/blue) Zorro Short Arms 3/8 (black/purple/red gold blade, chartreuse/white nickle blade) Rat-L-Trap (firetiger) Zoom Trick Worm (black/red glitter, junebug, white, watermelon seed, green pumpkin) Zoom Horny Toad w/ hooks (watermelon red) Zoom Speed Craw (watermelon candy) Sinker package (forget the name, it's got tons of them though) Pliers, terry towels, a first aid kit, OFF spray (lol) Berkley Frenzy Flicker 3" (pearl white, black silver) Arbogast Jitterbug 3" (original) BPS Economy Net, the medium sized one. A wet suit, flippers/goggles, and underwater explosives (in case I dont catch anything, or a fish swims away with my lure)
  6. How are the Berkley Frenzy Flicker Shads? They're on sale for $1.88 I'm almost done. I keep reading all these posts, I'm definitely putting a BPS employees' kid through college.
  7. Ok cool... I'm almost done picking out my tackle. Just a few more Q's. Should I use swivels, if so what kind and size?
  8. I have no perception of size and weight. I doubt I'll be catching any 17 pounders, so I'll stick wit the medium. Also for the line... Anything else that you'd recommend besides the Yozuri? I'm getting everything at BPS on a new card, and they don't carry the hybrid ultra soft.
  9. What color spinnerbaits should I use for each type of clarity?
  10. Should I get the M or MH rod? Both are the same price.
  11. Does the color of the hook really matter?
  12. I already got my rod/reel advice, so now comes the fun stuff! Mainly for SM/LM bass. I remember I had really good luck with the red/black Culprit worms years ago. Sadly, that's all I remember. So far I'm thinking of 2 packs of those same worms (or something equal), and some 2" Storm WildEye Shads. I need some hooks, sinkers, hard bait, maybe more plastics? I don't know thats where you help. I'd like to keep it under $60.
  13. I haven't fished for about 10 years (since I was 14). I found a nice 50 acre stream fed pond near my house. People have told me it's nice fishing over there, some nice small/large mouth. Anyways, I need a good spinning combo. I only have Sports Authority and Dicks around here, and I wasn't that impressed with the stuff they were selling. I'd say $150 for a rod/reel. I don't want to spend much more, unless the difference is THAT good. Always willing to spend less, seeing how I'm pretty much a newb again. I'd also need a good quality line. When I was fishing Spider Wire had just come out, but now there are so many types to choose from.
