Hi All,
So I bought a Legend Elite spinning rod from St. Croix (not a cheap rod) and I noticed the guides progressively twist slightly to the right from the reel to the tip, such that if I were holding the rod reel down, the large guide at the bottom is perfectly straight but the rod tip guide points about 50-55 degrees to the right. When I'm fishing, it appears as though the fishing line is putting tension on the left side of the guide and is not completely straight. The line does not hang on the furthest end of the guide.
Is this something I should be concerned about? I would assume a rod of this price range should be made to perfection. I'm relatively new to fishing rods, and I'm not sure if this is by design, or if its a poorly crafted rod. It was an online order so I wasn't able to inspect it.
Would this impact my line or eventually snap the guide? Would it restrict my casting distance? Should I consider having it replaced?
Thanks
