Hey Bass Pros - I am looking for some advice as to where I should concentrate my efforts to find largemouth bass on Deer Lake in Boyne City, Michigan. Deer Lake is is northern Michigan, and is relatively small. I have done a ton of research, and everything keeps pointing me back to structure structure structure. I've attached a contour map of the lake. I have spent most of my time on the west side, near the 12' depth marker, where I have caught one LMB and one SMB over the last week. I'm on a light action 35 spinning reel, casting all sorts of crank baits - 1" rapala shads, perch color, spoons with flys, hula poppers.
The lake itself is pretty shallow, at least around the shore line, and it is very clear.
Curious - if you were looking at the depth of this lake, are there any places that you would go first, or places that you would absolutely avoid? Because it's a small shallow lake, the water is pretty warm too.
Thanks!
