  2. Prespawn Upper Potomac/Shenandoah River Smallmouth

    Hello everyone. I'm hoping to fish the upper Potomac and Shenandoah rivers during the prespawn this year. The water is warming, but not quite there. I was able to pick up 8 smallies by slow rolling a swimbait the other day. Anyway, what kind of areas should I be targeting for the prespawn time period? Thanks.

    Hello. I have been fishing the upper Potomac around Shepherdstown, WV with very minimal luck. Ive fished some very good looking ledges, riprap, and eddies. River is optimal depth at 2.5 feet and pretty clear. In the past 2 days i have fished 6 hours and have only caught 2 11" smallmouth. If anybody els ehas been fishing pleas let me know how your fishing has been. Thank you
