  1. I have 2 of these reels. They are nice. I had 3 SLX DC reels that I sold in favor of these Japanese versions, besides looking a lot nicer (gunmetal as opposed to black) they seem to cast better from what I've noticed. Not sure if its due to the 70 size spool or what. For my fishing style the 70 size is just fine. The 70 holds about 70-75 (210-225ft) yards of 15lb InvisX and the 150 size holds about 90 yards (270). As far as size goes, they are identical in size and shape as the US 150 version. Not sure if something inside them is different though as they feel a little nicer to me then the US version. I have also tries to put the 150 spool in the JDM slx and it DID NOT fit.
  2. Thanks! I'm leaning to the MGL. I have 2. One is a 6.3 and is on my jerk/crank set up. I also have a jdm slx dc which is on my other workhorse setup. The size is the same as the regular DC but the spool size is a 70 size.
  3. Hi all, new here. I fish out of a kayak and I use only a 5 rod setup. 1 spinning and 4 baitcasters. I currently have 5 baitcasters and looking to sell one but just wondering what you guys would do? The 2 in question are the a SLX DC 7.2 and the SLX MGL 70 7.2. It would be one of my 2 general work horse set ups. The other 2 are a jerkbait/crank set up and a topwater/frog/punch set up. I don't normally need to bomb casts since I can get closer to the fish with the yak. I like both reels though and I'm torn! I would keep all of them but one has to go. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
