  1. I also live on Lake Hubbard and it is tough to fish! I lived on Lake Conroe previously for 8 years. Normally catch 10 fish or more a day. I consider myself a multi species fisherman. Bass in the morning and crappie or sandbass in the afternoon. I agree fishing the rip rap or under the bridges is disconcerting for the traffic noise. The spring and early summer are easier for me during spawn. Late Fall to early winter is tough. I have been shutout the last two times. But also some of the every day regulars have only caught a couple of random crappie or sandbass. I see thousands of fish out in the middle of the lake suspending anywhere from 15-32 ft deep. I have thrown every size and color of jigs, slabs, cranks, trolled and deep trolled with downrigger. I’ve tried minnows on several occasions. There are so many baitfish out in the middle my minnow is one of 5 million. So yeah I’m with you, I’m just going To keep at it. I’ve heard the north end above 66 is bette in the winter m, but you have to know how to navigate through the timber and stumps which can be daunting. I’m going to go north the next few times to see if I have better success.
