  1. Awe... ive heard of anodes but never really thought to understand what they were. Im still pretty new to boat ownership and understanding the part of an engine. That info gives me more confidence in taking a boat in the salt as long as i baby it and take good care of it. Thanks for the info!
  2. Thanks for all the advice guys. Thanks but its a little out of my price range. Looking for something $20-25K. Nice boat though! I guess a big question is...is it worth using a brand new aluminum boat in saltwater? Even with routine maintenance after being in the saltwater, i feel that salt will eventually get to an outboard and trailer.
  3. Thats not a bad option. I guess i should have mentioned the weather hear can get nasty and the wife needs a WT. Also, I think id like to get a 75-90 hp for when Im able to fish Clear Lake or other big lakes. I appreciate the response NYbasser.
  4. Hey all, Im in the market for a new boat. Im leaning towards a new aluminum deep-v boat, most likely a Lowe as it fits my budget. I mainly bass fish, but live on the coast of the pacific ocean. I want a boat that can do both if its worth maintaining saltwater usage. I do have a 12’ aluminum boat with a 4-hp motor. Cant get to spots quick but can beat it up in saltwater. Should i get a deep-v to fish both bass/bay or get a mod-v for bass and 12’ strictly for the bay? Hard to spend 20-30k and put it right into yhe saltwater. I know its probably personal preference but if anyone has any insight from experience Id appreciate it. Thanks!
