Baitcaster for smaller baits *no BFS*
What gear ratio?

Baitcaster for smaller baits *no BFS*
Ok so clearly I was incorrect thinking the Karashi 80 is a small/light bait. I get this now so maybe we can move on from mentioning this fact and potentially recommend a reel best for this setup. Sorry for my confusion.

Baitcaster for smaller baits *no BFS*
I figured as much, I was just looking for recommendations on a reel that casts far fairly easily. I agree just about anything can cast this but in the same breath some reels will ast smoother and further then others. Where I bought the rod they also had a couple curado MGL on sale. Only had 8:2:1 ration reels tho

Hey y'all My local shop had a crazy deal on the gloomis imx pro rods so I picked up a med action, hoping to use it for the new Karashi 80. It's 1/2oz in weight, any recommendations for a reel for this one? Thanks Greg

First glide bait - did I pick the wrong colour?
I thought this thing already sinks, very slow. Would adding the strips/weights not increase the sink speed?

First glide bait - did I pick the wrong colour?
Yea I know I'm definitely gonna be playing with some weeds but I know a few spots I should be able to throw it around! Just gotta hope there's fish there. Would you mind explaining this? Is this foam strip tune to get it to slowly sink?

First glide bait - did I pick the wrong colour?
Hey Y'all So I've had the glide bait bug for awhile now and I finally took the plunge. I'm from Southern Ontario Canada so keep that in mind. I was a bit overwhelmed with the choices, in the end I only had a handful of options at my local tackle shops. I ended up going with a Bucca Trick Shad. I liked the size and I thought for $60 CAD, well who am I kidding that's crazy to me lol. Anyways I partially chose this unit cause of the guys @ tacticalbassin. I also went with a colour they recommended which was "threadfintastic" even though where I fish I'm pretty sure we don't have threadfins, heck I'm 99% sure we don't even have shad in my lakes. As I sit here battling my excitement / did I just spend $60 on one lure debate, I'm now worried I made a bad colour choice. I usually lean towards matte finishes, and they did have "matteshad" and "pearlbone". The threadfin colour has a shiny finish but I did like the hits of blue, purple and yellow it has I thought it kinda had some bluegill colouring (yes I know it's shaped like a shad). I can still exchange it, should I or am I just being too picky? Thanks Greg

What lure caught your biggest bass in 2025?
6.1 bronze back on a Deps Evoke, I think it was September or November. I love fall cranking.

Boat starts up then won't start again
The plugs were just replaced, we pulled them and they are all the same no real discoloration. Slightly oily tho. Fuel is vented from the can, what filters are you referring to? The gas is fresh Wow, thanks for the post but it all seems a bit overwhelming. We did test the spark on the water a couple days ago, just as you said we took the lid off and tested a spark plug on a bolt head and each one of the 3 sparked a white/blue colour. The motor is a 96 Evinrude, not really sure the model.

Boat starts up then won't start again
So after a few trips out the problem still remains. Every trip the motor fires up just fine on the initial take off, we would get to our first spot fish for an hour then go to move and it either works or it doesn't, and when it doesn't the kinda fires up but then just kinda putters out and dies. Yesterday it actually died as we were driving which was a first. We were just crusing away from the boat ramp at a slow speed and then you could feel it sputter, then a couple more sputters then it cut out. It started back up and was fine till we got to our first spot. Fishes there for a bit then moved to our second spot no problem but then when moving to the third spot it wouldn't start. I trolling motor 'd it across the lake then tried it again and it fired up. We tested that each cylinder was getting a spark ( and the plus are new) so we are really baffled now by this. We tried taking it to the guy who winterizes it for us and he says it might be the power box but he doesn't know for sure either

Boat starts up then won't start again
The primer bulb is NOT firm. I thought maybe it was the fuel line as well The engine is pretty old I wanna say 15-20years

Boat starts up then won't start again
Hey y'all, I had the problem on the last trip of my season last year and now I've just got the boat in the water for the first time this year and it happened again. After I dump it in the water it starts and runs fine but if I shut it off to say fish an area when I try to start it again it won't fire. I changed the plugs this past off season, so I'm not really sure what else it could be? It sounds like it wants to fire but just doesn't.

Why can't I cast far?
It's definitely not messily wound. I'm not a fishing expert but I'm not a newbie either. This is my first light action rod so I'd be lying if I said I'm used to casting something like this, but I'm pretty confident it has nothing to do with my technique either. I just bought a house and in the process of moving so my stuff is everywhere but I'm thinking I just didn't know that under filling a spool could cost me distance. That fact I'll pony up too being a newbie. My line is also clean and no wind knots, I couldn't cast it so I didn't even use it lol. I'm banking on the half or less then half spooled reel being the culprit. When I get sometime hopefully before season opens in June I'll respool the reel and test it in the yard and update this thread. Otherwise thanks for everyone's suggestions!

Why can't I cast far?
Ok so I finally looked at the combo and the line goes in each guide so that's not it. But I did see that I maybe only spooled the reel half way? So too little line, could that cause this?
