Help Converting Waypoints From One Format to Another
I am fishing my first tournament this weekend and will be using my Lowrance Hook 2 5X Split Shot GPS fish finder for the first time as well. I've done some research in preparation and have coordinates of certain areas of the lake that I will prioritize. I would like to save these spots as waypoints that I can then navigate to on Tournament day but my problem is as follows: The coordinates I have are in this format: 41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E My Lowrance Fishfinder seems to use this format: 41 24.2028, 2 10.4418 I checked on Google Maps and both of the coordinates above are exactly the same - they are just in two different formats. Does anyone know how to convert the first waypoint format into the other ? Please let me know if there is some type of coordinate format converter website that does this or let me know if I can provide more information here if it's not clear. Thank you so much ! Joe P.S. I called Lowrance Technical Support and they told me I can only drop a waypoint on the water but when I got off the phone with them I was playing around with my fishfinder in my home and I was able to create a waypoint for my house AND I am able to edit the coordinates and then save it. I just need to know how to convert the coordinate format I have (41°24'12.2"N 2°10'26.5"E) into the coordinate format that Lowrance seems to use (41 24.2028, 2 10.4418)

How heavy is your kayak battery and where is it located ?
Want to make sure I posted this in the right section - please let me know ! I could really use advice from those who have been there done that as I am trying to get ready for my first kayak fishing tournament by April 18th. Will be doing another two in the weeks following as well so want to make sure I position my trolling motor and battery in the best possible spots out of the gate so I can do little tweaks to optimize but at least avoid some big mistakes based on my inexperience. Thanks so much ! Joe

How heavy is your kayak battery and where is it located ?
Hi Everyone ! I am enjoying this fine community and have been busy reading posts on all different topics but thought I’d ask one particular question I’ve been thinking through as I prepare for my first Kayak Bass fishing tournament. I have a 15’ 6 “ sit inside kayak (Wilderness Systems Pamlico Excel) that I’ve been setting up for the Kayak Bass fishing league I joined and I am trying to install the trolling motor and marine battery I purchased - here’s what I’ve got: Trolling Motor: Minn Kota Endura Pro 55 lb Thrust (36”) Marine Battery: Mighty Max 12v 110ah AGM deep cycle Trolling Motor Mount: Railblaza Kayak Motor Mount My main question is where is the ideal location for the battery since the one I have is 68 lbs ? I called Minn Kota before I purchased the battery and they said they recommend a battery with at least 110ah. Also the Railblaza Kayak motor mount I bought is a side mount so I am trying to determine best placement for it as well. ive read that since I am right handed it is better to mount the motor on the left side and I’ve seen pics of people who have installed their kayak trolling motors just behind the seat (which makes sense so they can turn and reach the handle to adjust speed and steer, etc.). But I’ve also read that if the trolling motor is mounted on the side it will perform best if mounted more towards the back of the kayak vs the middle. Trolling motor is heavy (not sure exact weight), I am 220 lbs and will be seated in the middle (although I can move closer front or back if it’s helpful) and the battery is 68 lbs. From what little I could find re: battery placement, it seems the best spot MIGHT be towards the front of the kayak to counter balance the weight of the trolling motor but then I’ve also seen folks have their battery right by or under their seat which is also right near the trolling motor - to me that seems like too much weight all in one part of the boat. Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts and questions ! Joe

Help registering my used kayak and trolling motor
I wish i was wrong but... Boat registration requirements In New York, boats (watercraft) without a motor do not need to be registered. If you use a motor (electric or fuel-driven), regardless of the size of your boat or the motor, you must register your boat.

Help registering my used kayak and trolling motor
Thanks MN Fisher, I can definitely do that for the trolling motor I bought since its only been two weeks since I bought it and I have the seller's cell phone but with the kayak i went back and forth with him via email but I was emailing the seller's Craigslist auto generated email address (which then goes to the seller's personal email address without the buyer (in this case me) seeing). I will try to email him using the Craigslist email address tomorrow to see what happens. Thanks ! Joe

Help registering my used kayak and trolling motor
Hi Everyone ! I just joined this great community and after reading some super interesting discussions on such a variety of topics I thought of a good first question to ask ! I purchased a used Wilderness Systems Pamlico Excel tandem kayak on Craigslist in 2014. Two weeks ago I purchased a used Minn Kota Endura Pro 55 lb thrust trolling motor, also on Craigslist. I live in NY and I've learned that I need to register my kayak if I want to use the trolling motor. Today I called the DMV and they told me that I need to show proof of ownership of the kayak and the trolling motor with a Bill of Sale or sales receipt, etc. Once I have that I can go online and fill out a title form and a registration form. I have email records from 2014 with the Craigslist seller where we agree on a price for the kayak, date to pick it up, sellers address. I can furnish the same for the trolling motor. My question is I can't sign for the seller, nor do I know their full names (it's Craigslist after all!). Any one have any advice for me as to how I can put together a sales receipt for and get my kayak and motor titled and registered ? Thanks everyone - any questions let me know ! Joe P.S. also called Wilderness Systems today and they said if I give them the hull identification number they can mail me the kayaks manufacture origin (or something like that).
