  1. Yeah I've seen some like those, but was wondering if someone actually used some of the cheaper options and would recommend a brand
  2. Was wanting to throw some hard swimbaits, the type that are one piece with the hinge in the middle like the 6th sense draw. I don't want to spend $70 on a bait though. What are some cheaper options for comparable jointed swimbaits? Something in the $30 range would be more reasonable. Was wondering if any used any cheaper options and had any suggestions or am I stuck having to pay big money
  3. How do you take the side plate off this thing? I've got the switch pushed to unlock and it doesn't budge when I try twisting the plate off Nvm I figured it out. I guess the plate just pops off and doesn't twist like other baitcaster I've used
  4. I was wanting to fish more for smallmouth this year which typically means smaller baits and spinning rods, and more "finesse" presentations for largemouth. I was wondering what are good all around weights for each of the different presentations that can get me started for alot of different situations. And anyone know how much a standard weightless wacky rig weighs? Shakey head Drop shot Hair jig Finesse jig Neko rig
  5. I actually have that reel and enjoy it. Find it's not quite as smooth when casting as my Lews or Daiwa, but doesn't affect performance. But probably won't get it since I'm looking for something new
  6. Any concerns about the side plate coming off? Heard some complaints about that happening on the XT
  7. Need to purchase another all purpose baitcaster in the $115 and under price range. I have Daiwa, Shimano, Abu Garcia, and Lews baitcaster already. Was thinking of getting a different brand and was wondering if anyone has any reviews on the pflueger president XT baitcaster? Was wondering since I don't have any baitcaster from that brand, or is there another good option in that price range? I already own a Daiwa Fuego but wouldn't mind another if they're the best
  8. Any good boxes out there that store buzzbaits and spinnerbaits? Looked through some old forums and wasn't sure if there was some new box out there that stored them well
  9. I noticed some tackle box/tray companies sell 3700s in a deep version. What do people typically store in these deeper versions? Just a bigger quantity of stuff you store in usual 3700s? Or can you fit buzzbaits/spinnerbaits in them?
  10. So I was thinking, since rod companies all leave part of the blank exposed under the reel seat where you can rest a couple fingers, does it really matter if your handle is made of carbon fibre, cork, EVA, etc. specifically for casting rods
  11. Not sure if this is the right thread, but was wondering if yall have a preference between waterproof 3700 tackle boxes and the nonwaterproof ones? I would assume most people get the waterproof ones in case it rains or if you're in really wavy water, but aren't your lures more likely to rust in the waterproof ones due to the waterproofing if you're not careful? Which one does everyone prefer?
  12. I was looking to purchase one rod to cover frogging, punching, and swimbaits up to 1.5 ounces. Hoping it could also help with pitching/flipping. Would a heavy, fast action 7" rod work well for this, or what power/action/length would be the perfect do all rod for these applications?
  13. I noticed there's two different versions of the bass handbooks. There's a largemouth and smallmouth version with a newer looking cover and appears they were published more recent than the old largemouth (largemouth bass in the 1990s) and smallmouth handbooks. Is the newer looking books just an updated version of the older books? Are they completely different? Is one version better than the other?
  14. Was wanting to purchase the river smallmouth fishing book by Tim Holschlag from his website. The cart does not seem to work and the business has not posted anything on their social media for over a few years now. Called and emailed them with no response. Did the business close down after Tim passed away?
