  1. Never has, only fished with it once. Been making the noise since I got it
  2. Biospawn Plasma Tail in green pumpkin and chartreuse. Always my go to
  3. I got a Shimano Vanford 2500 from cabelas about a month ago and since I got it, it’s been making a weird noise when reeling. It makes a periodic high pitched whoosh and I can feel it a little bit too. It’s at a certain point in the handle rotation when it makes it. If you spin it super fast it gets really loud and still makes it when I take the spool off. It’s still really smooth but I’m just concerned with the long term effects if I don’t see what’s wrong with it. I lost the receipt so I’d have to take in store credit probably and it was the only vanford they had. Might save 100 bucks and get a Supreme XT if I can’t fix it. Does anyone else’s Vanford or Stradic CI4+ do this?
  4. SV for lighter baits (weightless - 1/4oz) Z for 3/8 and up. My Tatula 150 with Mag Z chucks a jig or frog further than any of my linear magnet reels. The SVs don’t cast nearly as far but cast light baits way better
  5. Not that I can remember but I wouldn’t rule that out. Might’ve dropped it in the water on accident at some point. I’ll definitely have DVT check it out, thank y’all ?
  6. So back in January I got an Abu Revo SX from Cabelas and for the first few months it was super smooth. Then it developed a really strong geary feel. When just playing around with it you can notice a buzzy feel occasionally and then when fishing with it, it becomes a constant geary feel. It’s especially obvious with higher resistance lures like cranks and chatters. I’ve oiled the bearings and taken apart and regreased it a couple times and still can’t find out what’s wrong. I’m guessing one of the gears, probably the pinion or worm gear, is messed up. I’m no reel mechanic though and wonder what to do because it’d feel like a waste of 160 bucks just not using it. It’s past the Cabelas warranty and I doubt Abu would take it back and probably would consider it “normal wear and tear”. I can’t find any parts for the newer Revos so would it be worth it to get it fixed at a reel shop?
  7. Always liked fishing but it wasn’t until 3 years ago when I moved close to a nice little lake that I really got into it. Would walk a mile to the lake every day with an ugly stik and have been hooked (no pun intended…maybe) ever since. been lurking BR for a while now and have always done my research on here before buying tackle so I never end up with buyers remorse lol. Now I’m looking forward to contributing and learning more on this site ? -Brandon
