Hello everyone I hope your all well, I’m writing because I just purchased my first high end spinning reel a shimano exsence. I just received is from Japan lure shop and was surprised by the quality and feel however was less impressed by the bale trip, it takes quite a bit to trip the bale mechanically and im not sure if that’s normal? Im kind of disappointed because the last reel I bought was a matanium bc from Japan lure shop and the release button sticks on that one half the time and both are brand new?! Is it normal for it to be a stiff trip right out of the box? I can’t be that unlucky to get two lemons ?

Hello everyone this is my first post, but I’ve been using the information on this forum for a long time and have always enjoyed the helpful information! I’m posting because I just received in the mail a new jdm metanium mgl, this also is my first bait caster and am by no means familiar with this type of reel. I have just taken it out of the box and am super impressed except for one thing, when reeling with no line, it seems to be making a slight clack or clicking sound, but when I remove the spool the sound goes away, or if I put my thumb just slightly on the spool the sound goes away. Is this normal? When I get line on it will this go away? Reel feels super smooth. Sorry if this is a stupid question! I just had nobody to ask there opinion and thought I would try here! Thanks!
