  1. I was planning to use braid to FC. i have heard the 733 is on the slower end of “fast”
  2. I’m looking for a new Texas rig rod using 1/4 weights in conjunction with small plastics like a baby brush hog. I am up in northern Idaho fishing for smallies in deep mountain res with little to no heavy cover so I’m not looking for a broomstick punch rod. I have always been a G Loomis, St Croix guy and have never even seen a Dobyns rod in person however it’s impossible to find any GLX or Legend rods atm and I have noticed there are quite a few Champ XP and Extreme rods in stock at TW. It seems whenever the subject of 733 vs 734 comes up around here most of the time the 734 is what is recommended but I have to wonder if my location and specific use would call for the 733 or 743….. OR is the 734 truly THE Texas Rig rod in the Dobyns family? i already have a GLX 894C JWR that I use for 1/2 football jigs and in my mind the 734 is more like the GLX 894C than the 733 which is why I think I want the 733/743….. But then again the other common theme with Dobyn rods is they are under powered for their rating. So I’d love to hear from the Dobyns guys before I make an online order.
