  1. Good Evening All, Looking for any and all advice from those with experience fishing the North Landing River and the surrounding creeks. I started my bass fishing adventure in April of this year. I have been fishing all my life with my dad but for crappie only so now I'm learning bass fishing. Summer was fun and I caught some bass. Three 5 pounders, a few 4 pounders and a lot of 3 and less. I've tried a lot of lures but found a green and blue finesse worm with a shakey head to be the best followed by a frog then buzzbait bait then chatter bait. Senko's worked too. I mainly fished blackwater creek in the summer and hit the docks and shady spots. Some days were great and others not so great. Now that the temperature is dropping I cant seem to find a pattern. I went today, ambient was 55 degrees and water temp was 62. I tried fishing bank grass in 10 feet of water near the channel, I tried blackwater creek, I tried salmons ditch which is a creek that is 10 to 12 deep and about 200 yards long and 40 yards wide. No bites but no baitfish that I could see. I've read to find the bait fish......I couldnt find them anywhere nor do I know how. I finally caught one 2 and a half pounder at the end of the day on that finesse worm with shakey head. He was next to a single cypress tree like they were all summer. I fished several trees to no avail. I threw crankbaits(craw and shad color) jerkbaits, white buzz blue buzz, chatter bait craw color jig with craw trailer. Sexy dawg topwater. Couldnt find a pattern couldnt find baitfish. I dont know if North Landing is just a poor place because its a wind driven shallow river or I just dont know what I'm doing. I fish this river because West Neck Marina is 8 minutes from my house. I fish from 9 to 3 because that is when my 2 girls get on and off the bus. I still have one fishing buddy left but she'll be heading off to school next year. So what is my problem? Any advice? Better places to fish that are close other then Bob's fishing hole? Thanks guys and gals in advance.
  2. So I have found a riprap shoreline that's about 2 to 3 feet deep about 1/2 mile long and has about 5 docks as well. I have caught a few bass here in about 2 hours fishing. But during that time big boats pass by and throw 1 to 2 ft wake against the shore line. I know I should probably fish it more but I wonder if these big wakes move the fish away. It's the intercoastal waterway so these boats go by all the time everyday. Are the fish use to it and stay put or do you guys think this water is too disturbed too frequently for bass to hang out?
