Hi all, Looking for some guidance on a trolling motor for my Excel F86 18’ skiff. I use it to hunt out of in the winter and fish in the summer. MudBuddy surface drive motor is all I have on it and have been thinking on a trolling motor buy due to the fact that the MudBuddy is indeed quite loud. I fish the tidal Potomac areas targeting bass and snakehead. The MudBuddy can get me into shallow water areas with ease but it’s loud like I said. Ive been looking at the Minnkota trolling motors sized for 50-55lbs thrust (can’t recall exact specs). But following the 2lbs per 100lbs of hull weight my rig maxed out would probably be around a ton. Looking at minnkota trolling motors what do you recommend? Saw the Maxxum for around 799 and the Prodrive with iPilot for $1,200. Spot locking on areas seems very nice. Also would I need a battery charger?
