I need to clean that white film you get on the lower unit of a Merc. and was wondering what products you have found that work w/out causing damage to the finesh?

I own a Procraft 175 with the 125 mercm and it will run around 55 mph on the speedo. One thing that takes some getting used to is the motor runs on two of the cylinders untill around 1700 rpm's then the other two will kick in. Other than that the merc is a sweet little runner and seems to be a good fit for this boat. Hope this helps, Bill

Also had the same problem, cracked speedo tube - wet legs. Cut off the bad section -problem solved.

I would like to add a toggle switch on the bow panel of my Procraft 175 to trim the motor.I am thinking i will need a three post switch with the middle post being a hot wire. Does anyone know where to tap in to the wires on mercury control to make this work?- Sorry for the long post.

fish the river 99% of the time and use braid on all my rigs. There is a reason you need a good pair scissors to cut braid. Many times when cranking the wingdams for smallies i will reel in a big ball of zebs snaged on one of the tribles. I think you will find braid will help.

fish the upper mississippi - full of zebra mussels and have not had any problems using 20# power pro.
