    I just bought a used 8 horse Johnson engine.Model number JERCEC Serial Number B 7954622. I am going crazy searching the web to find there year it eas manufactured.At 86 I dont search the web with great success. Can anyone out there help me?

    I just bought an older 12 ft aluminum boat that has an 8 horse Johnson. No tags that tell what engine to use. Is that too much engine for a 12 foot boat? I have not had it on the water yet.
