Is the new Curado 150 MGL saltwater safe?
The Curado K is salt friendly. The Curado DC and Curado 70 MGL are also saltwater friendly. This is why I was quite curious on my Curado 150 MGL about salt use since all the other Curado can pull through in salt water scenarios. When I do go down to Florida to fish inshore it is completely salt and rarely brackish unless fishing a spring fed river system. Snook, reds, jacks, and trout are all on the list in the areas I fish and since my Curado 150 MGL has such high performance at its level, I wanted a reel that can deliver that super high performance in some salt environments. This includes all day lightweight comfort, long and precise casting inches from the mangrove roots, and a smooth and enjoyable reeling experience the whole day. With this conclusion I will have my eyes dead set with a Curado K in the near future for my inshore needs and a workhorse reel for bass fishing.

Is the new Curado 150 MGL saltwater safe?
I know this reel is built for freshwater but I have not seen any thing telling me that saltwater is off limits for this thing. Does anybody have any feedback or ideas about this situation? And if I did take a chance and use it in saltwater and clean it afterwards, would it be fine?

How did you do this year?
Thank you!

How did you do this year?
I did not hold the bass outwards. I held it towards my body so it is an accurate scale to my body. It was 29 inches and had a giant belly.

Lemme just say this...Georgia lakes and summers can bring some crazy things.

How did you do this year?
I have had one hell of a year so far. This is my first year seriously getting into fishing. I only have kayaks and a 14 foot jon boat with no graphs or nothing. The spring was slow and I got a late start cause I barely knew a lot about bass fishing but as the summer started creeping in I managed to catch a lot of good ones. Just as July was coming near I was able to get away with a 16 pounder 29 inch PB as well as a 15 pounder and a 13 pounder within June. I knew the summer pattern and was able to really stick with it. I put in countless hours on the lake I was fishing which were at least 4-8 hours ever single time. The summer was a great time for me and I knew my local pattern so well I could go anywhere and dominate them. Now getting into fall for me and lakes are starting to turnover in the shallow parts it is getting tougher. Although I have still been able to get at least a 3 or 4 pounder maybe 5 pounder every week on crankbaits on ledges and shade lines, things have been changing and the this is my first fall that I will be heavily seriously fishing so it will be a test of my knowledge. Only time will tell since I do not have a graph or fish finder if I will be able to keep up with this rapidly changing fall transition. Hopefully I can still get away with at least another 8 pounder before this season ends because for the last couple months since June I have caught at least an 8+ pounder every month.

Is there a budget reel that can compete/ outperform the Shimano Caius B?
The used market can bring some good deals but with that it comes patience and a lot of shopping. You need to also be careful on them used reels too because usually someone is trying to get rid of their own problems with that reel. I am starting to get into it but not too hot on it. The only reason why I would buy off the used market is to get an expensive and reliable reel for a good deal.

That is true however I do not like the magnetic breaks on it. I prefer centrifugal breaking instead of magnetic.

I can indeed agree because I was also looking at the CC 80 but I did hear that a lot of people tend to receive faulty ones.

I also love my SLX but I have an XT model of it. Instead of Daiwa Fuego I suggest getting more SLXs and possibly one or more Caius Bs. The Caius can almost preform as well as my SLX with way lighter baits too. Depending on your budget or needs in a reel, you have a lot of choices.

I am looking for a debate where somebody can possibly change my mind or convince me to try a reel that is better that the Caius B for its price point. The Caius B can cast up to 50 yards with very light baits and it is a very smooth, quiet, and light reel. For 80 bucks it is a great reel with centrifugal breaks and imo it cannot be beaten by a long shot. It has a great color scheme and is a great palmable reel with a sleek look.

Thoughts, predictions, and reviews of the Shimano Curado 150 MGL
If it is brass gears like the Metanium then I see this reel being as perfect as it can get. It is a great reel no doubt and I will be buying it as soon as I can. Whatever it has, brass or high grade aluminium alloy, should not let you down then. I regularly catch 5-8 pounders at least once a week so those gears at that level should be able to regularly put up with it. If you love the SLX feel and frame but in a higher quality reel such as the Curado line then this is the best choice especially with its capability to easily cast over 50/55 yards.

Thoughts, predictions, and reviews of the Shimano Curado 150 MGL
Now I am in search of another reel and while I have the SLX XT and the Caius B, I need a step up from those reels. And the revolving question around my head is the Curado 150 MGL worth it out of the Curado series? I have done extensive research on it and the only problem I can see with the reel is the aluminium micromodule gearing durability. Can it handle the wear and tear of crankbaits and big bass over 5 pounds very often? I have many questions about the reel and since I am on the verge of taking a step into the unknown and buying it myself I do not know if there can be an alternative reel or possibly a different model of Curado that can outperform this reel. I would also want to fully in detail learn about its technologies and what it has to offer while also helping other people who are in the same situation as me when it comes to picking up an expensive reel.
