She was throwing a 4" green pumpkin lizard. After we released the fish I said" When it bit what were you doing, slow, fast, stop n go, or what?" She said " I have no idea, hehehe!" I think maybe if I stop trying so hard they will just come, whatever.
My fishing buddy, my wife and myself went wading yesterday. Well the Mrs. made the both of us look bad. This was big fish of the day and Im still taking a ribbing for it. Seriously this is one of the bigger fish Ive seen caught from where we fish. I couldnt stop smiling for her, what a woman!
Elkhorn Creek, Central KY
Little skinny but a beauty.
I second Roostertails.
I would also use a texas rigged 4" lizard weightless or with a small bullet with a 1/0 offset hook. I like green pumpkin seed, but thats just my fav. Any color is good. This works like a charm when I fish the streams!
I have a Stalker II and it is a fine little rig. I even bought a 5hp B+S for it. It does well on small water and creeks/rivers. I figured out that it is imposible to sink though, apparently it has foam in it and wont go under. The nose dove into a wake while @ full throttle and filled the boat before I knew. I started grabbing gear and didnt notice that the motor was pushing the boat farther under the water. By the time I cut the engine the entire boat was under water and just the motor was dry. It slowly floated back up and then I used my TM to get to the dock which was only 150 yards away. Now I have total confidence in its insinkability. I have decided to get a big boat for big water soon though.
