  1. Thanks Tucson, that is precisely what I was referring too. It works everytime and takes just seconds!
  2. There was a little diagram floating aroung the net a little while back that explained what to do if you tongue/gullet hook a fish. I use it when I make a boo boo and so far as I can tell all the fish have been fine. It goes like this: while lipping the bass looking into its mouth you see that it is deep hooked. You should be looking straight at the hook from the top(seeing the eye of it closest to you). Whichever side of the fishes mouth the hook point is closest to reach gently in through that sides gill slit. Be careful not to damage the gills obviously. Grab the line above the hook and pull it through the gill slit until the hook turns out and then the eye of the hook is pointing away from you and it is outside the fishes mouth. You should look into the fishes mouth and see the bend of the hook pointed toward you. Now simply take some needle nose pliers and grab the bend and pull straight out. Works everytime! Hope I explained that correctly.
  3. Yeah the leatherman tools are handy for whatever. I always have one handy but for actual hook removal and line snipping I use my long rapala pliers. They have a neat little holster too along with a lanyard. Further they are anodized or something so they dont rust. I used to use a pair of normal needle nose a year b/c of rust before I spent the 20$ for my rapalas.
  4. Winchester right here brother! I rarely post but I soak in an immense amount of knowledge from all these guys.
  5. You have another PM!
  6. I didnt weigh it but it felt kinda heavy. Also please notice that I didnt stretch it toward the camera, I kept it close to my heart b/c it was love at first sight.

  8. That first pic is just killer! Reminds me of a Busch beer commercial!
  9. Need more info bro. Are you fishing creek, river, lake? From the shore or from a boat. Thing is I may go a few times and never catch fish but have those little tail biters that just pull my bait down the hook but either wont take the whole bait or cant take it. Depending on where you are fishing maybe you arent targeting the right areas. Give us some more details and we'll all surely throw our 2cents in man!
  10. My loving wife modeling a great smallie that she caught!
  11. Ive had alot of luck with the Kreature in the streams. I fish it really slow, T-rigged, bead, 1/8th oz bullet(I could probably go weightless). Ive found that any size LM wear it out but only the bigger SM will offer at it. Watermelon/red flake is my money color. I never thought of rigging it backwards, think I'll give it a try tommorrow. Later!
  12. If I were you, I'd buy a bamboo pole and some rope and then I would buy the citica and give it to your fishing partner. I hear he is the next big thing !
  13. Sweet, I'll sponsor you too! It will be a package deal!
  14. Thanks Guys, I have heard nothing but good things about the reel, which makes me feel much better about the purchase.
  15. For a long time I felt like the cheaper equipment was just as good. Until I moved up to Shimano reels and St Croix and Fenwick rods. Trust me You can tell a big difference. I fish about twice a week and the extra money was well worth it, I seem to enjoy the fishing days much better. You will also miss less fish with the better rods due to there sensitivity.
  16. I saw those the other day, but had never heard anything about them. We mainly use Zoom 4'' Lizards in Junebug, watermellon red flake and pumpkin. Have you ever had much luck on the Zoom tiny brush hogs?
  17. I recently purchased a Shimano Symetre 1500 reel (Front Drag model) and was wondering if anyone on here has used one of these, and if so what there personal review of the reel is. Thanks
  18. I am trying to get a general idea of what other members find to be the best soft plastic bait to use for smallmouth in creeks. We do alot of wade fishing and would like to try new things. Thanks
  19. Its an FLW from Wal-mart boys! $9.98
  20. Glad to have you brother. Cant have enough Kentucky boys! Live in Lex myself and Im on cave run every other weekend. The rest of the time I spend in elkhorn creek. Pleasure to meet you!
  21. I think that I enjoy wading more than I do boat fishing. It sure is a lot less work and its fun to just hang out in the water and take a deep breathe and notice all the little things about being outdoors. The most important part is those killer Smallies brother! I have a sweet light spinning rig and I have more luck with plastics than anything else. I also just got a float tube so I think that will be fun to get to some deeper spots.
  22. My partner and I both caught new PB smallies today. We are still young in our fishing careers but our fishing prowess is growing leaps and bounds with all the info here. Elkhorn Creek, Frankfort KY Me! My Partner, Joey!
  23. Whoever sponsors me and my boy, there decals and patches will be worn accordingly. Free equipment is always welcome. J/K ;D
