Hello, just came across this thread looking for something else. I had the same problem with mine. I popped the blue cap off, took a couple of drops of reel magic and dropped it down in the slot where the blue cap clip rides in the track. Buttery smooth now, haven't had a problem with it did it about a year ago. I would imagine I might have to do it again after a rain, so far I haven't. Hope this helps, tight lines!
