  1. Ha I get the reasoning from both arguments, still not sold either way
  2. Looks like the Fuego is 29.6 or 34.5 IPT for the 2500 size.
  3. I plan on picking up a Daiwa Fuego 2500 and there are two gear ratio options: 6.2 : 1 and 5.3 : 1 What makes more sense on an all purpose rod? Or does it just boil down to preference?
  4. But I can't complain spending time outside with my son and friends.
  5. I found it on sale for $90 so I pulled the trigger. I can see a HMG medium light in my future though. This hobby is starting to get expensive.
  6. Ha I ended up going with a Fury 703
  7. Where I typically fish there aren't trees or other obstructions that would get in the way.
  8. And going to pair that with a Dobyns Fury 703.
  9. I think I am going to pull the trigger on a Daiwa Fuego 2500.
  10. My current setup is a 6'6" medium Berkley Lightning rod paired with a Shimano Sienna reel. I primarily fish off the bank of a river, and will periodically wade. I typically throw plastic grubs, rooster tails, crankbaits, and ned rigs. I am looking for advice in upgrading to another rod and reel. I am currently thinking 7' medium, maybe a Dobyns Fury or Fenwick HMG. Not sure what reel to pair yet. Looking to keep this around $200-$250.
  11. I wish I could hold them side by side but I don't think bass pro carries Furys.
  12. I am looking for a new spinning reel in the $100 or so range and split between the Fenwick HMG and Dobyns Fury. Any opinons around the two which might help choose one over the other?
