Knot on whopper plopper 110 failed on reeling back in
I’ve been throwing whopper ploppers on 20 pound monofilament for months now and have had some great catches. I use the double schindo knot on them. I can tie other knots but this is my comfort knot. Anyway, today im using 17 pound monofilament on 110 whopper plopper and after 30 minutes of working the water the knot just failed on me and good bye $20 lure. Not a fish, not a backlash on a cast, just working the action and boom nothing. The line looks unraveled from what appears to be the knot failing. I’m not even sure what happened. I’ve tied this knot for years. I just stared out at the muddy river hoping to my spot my bone colored lure. I was wearing my waders so I would have gone after it but without spotting it wasn’t worth it. I’m at a lost and know don’t feel confident at all throwing anymore.
