Weights for dropshot
What type of fishing weight will be less likely to get wedged in rocks? I went fishing a few years back on found a large box of various size bullet weights (hundreds). Don't know why someone would need over 100 weights for a fishing trip but whatever. That's what I've been using. Just a small overhand knot, a "b" shot, and bullet weight. It works well in most situations except rocky areas. It breaks away well too and I like there's no line twist because the line goes right through the bullet weight. I rarely use nose hooking as majority of time i T.Rig my baits. But in rocks, it's snag city. I've used the traditional clip cylinder type. I can't say they are any less snag proof in rocky areas. I mostly rely on technique to finesse my way through the rocks but that only works so long. What do you guys use for rocky areas and dropshoting? (Round, egg, tear, HELP!!)

Best 6lb monofilament??
What is best 6lb monofilament fishing line? I want to use it as a leader, about 7 feet connected to 20lb braid. I was using BPS Excel but recently broke two fish off on hook sets. I don't believe that they were particularly big bass or that my knots were bad. I use a 2 rap tuna knot. It's like a palomar but with 2 twist instead of 1. I didn't swing for the fence either.

Baitcasting reel
I need help. I'm looking for a baitcasting reel in the 100 size that has a tight spool tolerance. I want to be able to spool 6 lb mono or similar diameter braid without it getting trapped between the spool and housing. Right now I have a Piscifun Torrent II and it's ok. I know bfs is an option but I'd rather keep things standard.

BFS conversion
Thanks. I kind of figured that was the case.

BFS conversion
Anyone out there have experience with converting 100 to 200 size baitcasters to BFS reels? I have 4 BPS Pro Qualifier's (200's I believe) and 2 Piscifun (100) Torrent 2 baitcaster reels. Are conversions possible with any of these?

Snell knots
Anyone tying snell knots regularly for bass fishing (or other types of fishing)? I've always had a problem trusting them because of the line butting up against the jagged edge of the eye of the hook. Is this actually a problem when fighting large fish?

Wind knots
Thank you. My spools lie flat. They neither "V" or "A". I have adjusted the appropriate amount of washers on the spool shaft. My line is about 1/8" from spool edge. I could go down to about 1/4" to see if that helps. I seem to wind knots at least once or twice in a 5 hour session. I will spend about 10 minutes picking it out. If unsuccessful I change rods. I have about 7 feet of leader, the connection knot (crazy Alberto) just above the spool. Thanks the culprit I'm sure. Thank you very much for information.

Wind knots
Is there anyone out there than uses braid that doesn't get wind knots on spinning gear. I love the ease of spinning gear and use it with straight mono. I have for a few years tried braid to mono leader. Although I do pretty good with it, I always get a nasty wind knot eventually. I have watched tons of YouTube videos concerning how to avoid them and have tried all those techniques. I have switched to all baitcaster and braid combo. I don't have any issues with braid and mono leader on BC. Would love opinions and advice. Maybe I just have to accept that as long as you put braid on spinning gear, you will have to deal with wind knots. Thx

Best knot
I love fishing braid to mono leader on my baitcaster. I've started using that set up for almost everything, even dropshot. I go Crazy Alberto to Tuna knot to start the rig. I always give myself 6 to 7ft of leader. My question is: what's the best knot to tie after I've broken off at the hook or go to switch baits. I find palomar and Tuna Knots, take a lot of line which quickly shortens my leader length. Anyone know of a good strong knot that doesn't require an excessive amount of line to tie?

Best casting accuracy
I'm looking for YouTube videos on how to improve accuracy so thought I'd find out if someone was considered the best.

Bass Pro Shop Pro Qualifier baitcaster size
Thank you very much for the information. Much appreciated.

Bass Pro Shop Pro Qualifier baitcaster size
Anyone know what size reel the BPS Pro Qualifier baitcaster is? I believe it only comes in one size. PQD10SHA. I believe the 10 indicates a 100 size but I'm not sure.

Small (100) baitcaster reel
Are you selling them separately or all together? What are you asking for each one?

Small (100) baitcaster reel
1/4-3/8 (7g-10g) med 7' rod.

Small (100) baitcaster reel
I wanted to get away from the braid wind knots associated with spinning gear. I usually don't have any problems with baitcasters and braid. But yes I use spinning gear also. This is very helpful. Thanks

Small (100) baitcaster reel
I'm looking for a small baitcaster reel (100) or smaller that I can fish 6lb mono or braid (12-20 lb) line on. I currently have a Piscifun Torrent II with 6lb mono that I dropshot with. I wanted a Piscifun Carbon XCS but just found out they are not producing them any longer. The Torrent is OK but I've had line get caught inside the spool housing 1x. I'm looking for something that has a tighter tolerance. I don't really want a BFS reel because I need something that can bomb my baits. My home lake has great structure about 40 yards from shore. I'd like to reach it with a finesse set up but need the extra yardage not offered with a BFS spool. Please advise or educate me.

Mono visibility
I think it's been proven that florocarbon is less visible than monofilament. However, my question is do bass really care? What's your experience?

Hook set
I have been having some trouble setting the hook on a long cast. There's an area on my home lake where the fish stack up on a rock pile. I really have to cast far to get on or past it. I have been missing hook sets when I have been bit. I'm using 6 lb mono on a med 7' 6" rod and a Diawa ss1300 reel because it's the only thing that gets me out there. Any suggestions?

Color dye's for soft plastic
You mean like throw it into the bag to see if it will bleed into the baits? Sounds promising. Thx

Color dye's for soft plastic
Anyone ever tried re-dying an existing soft plastic bait? I have some bags of white single tail grubs and I was thinking of trying to dye them a different color. Rit did not work. Any suggestions?

Bait keepers
Have you ever experienced any interference on the hook set because of the strap (inner tube)?
-
Bait keepers
What is your opinion on the "Harmony bait keeper " straps? I have used small swivels the same way to keep the soft plastic from slipping down the hook. Do you believe they interfere with the hook set like a pegged bullet weight might? I missed a few hook sets with the harmony. I couldn't tell if it was operator error, tail biters, or the strap.

Mono to mono knot
I'm going to give that a shot. I think I get what you are saying. Thx

Mono to mono knot
Does the water clarity have anything to do with your choice of using hi-vis yellow without a leader, or do you believe bass are not as line shy as most anglers believe. My lake is very clear.
