I haven't been fishing in ages but want to go soon. Back in the early to mid-90s as a teen I used to go to this video rental place. I'd already seen lots of the movies they had, so wanting something different, I rented a few of the VHS tapes on bass fishing. Most were good except for one of them.
In particular there was one of them that I fondly remember, and in it there was lots of flipping/pitching. For some reason I keep thinking of the word 'dipping', which is what they may have called it in the video. Maybe I'm misremembering. But anyhoo, I remember the video being more along the lines of just showing people catching fish rather than being an instructional. Probably just some music with people catching bass.
I distinctly remember seeing people in a boat simply dropping a jig right in front of them next to old tree stumps in the water, pulling up gigantic bass like I'd never seen. If that doesn't ring a bell, maybe this will help: there was snow and ice all over the place for a good portion of these segments, but maybe not for the entire duration.
The above is what I remember. Giant bass near tree stumps or some other wood obstructions in the water with snow and ice everywhere. I'd love to locate this thing and see it again 25-30 years later. I'm almost positive it can be dated to about the late 80s to early 90s time period.
