  1. I think I'l go with the MGL. I've always been more of a Shimano guy, althought I did recently buy a tatula 150 and tatula elite P/F to try out. I have not used an MGL spool yet but I'm excited to see how it performs. Thanks for all the input guys.
  2. Good points, I will have to put both on my jerkbait rod and see which one feels better. I plan to do the same with the Tatula but unfortunately you can hold it but can't cast it before buying lol
  3. I'm really not trying to start anything LOL just hoping for some opinions to help with my decision. I haven't considered the 70 size, what would the advantages be? When I look online the 150 is lighter, holds more line and is a bit less expensive than the 70. The 70 also only comes in 7.4:1 and 8.1:1, I know I'm a minority here but I prefer the 6.2:1 gear ratio for jerkbaits. Not that that's a deal breaker though.
  4. Curado 150MGL vs Tatula SV for jerkbaits? I recently had a thread comparing the SLX DC vs the MGL 150 and for the most part people prefered the MGL over the DC as the DC was not worth the money. So I made the decision to not go with a DC reel but then I got to looking more and it seems the Tatula SV and MGL are pretty comparable reels. Specifically for jerkbaits, does anyone have experience with both reels and make a recomendation?
  5. Sounds like the MGL is the way to go. I like to think I'm pretty good with baitcasters but I do get the odd backlash when casting into the wind so I thought the DC might help a bit to eliminate that. Thanks for all the feedback.
  6. That's good to know. That was the main reason for considering the DC reel was for casting into the wind, I just don't want to be disadvantaged under normal conditions with the DC reel. If they're comparable under normal conditions then that should work good I would think.
  7. Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm looking for a new reel for my jerkbait rod and I'm considering the SLX DC and the Curado 150MGL. I have a couple of Curados and love them, I have never used a DC reel though but it seems it would be a great choice for throwing jerkbaits on those windy days. My main concern is loosing casting distance with the DC reel, has anyone used both and can provide some input on which reel I should go with and why?
