Must read for bank anglers … will no doubt increase your catches this summer
While many of us banglers spend the summer wishing we had a fancy boat to go out and search for schooling fish with some fancy side imaging, many of us miss out on some great opportunities to be had from the shore for some truly giant bass. Entailed is a step by step analysis of how to get more bites this summer fishing pressured public water that you can do owning one combo and 15$ in baits. you will need 1 fishing rod capable of throwing atleast a 1/2 oz jig ( you don’t have to use a trailer but it does up your chances of a catch while your mapping the bottom) 2 a 1/2 - 3/4 oz football jig maybe even 1 oz if you believe the water to be over 30 Ft deep 3 4/0 worm hooks and 1/4-3/8 oz bullet weights 4 a pack of your favorite plastics mine are midsize brush hogs / curly tail worms/ or rage bugs / rage craws / the original trick worm or squirrel tail worm pro tip if you have a dock or pier to fish off of make a couple cast under or around it. It stinks to see a 5 lber swim out from under a dock you walked on 1. grab a 1/2-3/4 oz football jig and slowly drag it along the bottom casting as far as you can. Eventually you will feel some cover in the deeper water make a mental note of about where you notice the most cover these will be your high percentage areas 2. Rig a non pegged Texas rig and pick a plastic I normally start with a creature style bait or curly tail worm 3 drag your Texas rig extremely slowly through your high percentage areas if you think your going slow slow down don’t be afraid to stroke or hop your plastics in the high percentage areas but be sure to pause after 4 if nothing bites your creature bait a shakeyheads squirrel or trick worm can work well for finicky fish 5 catch some monsters my pb of 9lbs 9 oz came off of this exact technique on a full size brush hog with a slightly smaller 9lb 1 oz as well on a public lake this technique can be deadly around points witch most boat launches atleast on my lake are situated near but in the heat of the summer when the fish move deep during the day this can be an Awesome way to catch fish at cookouts and Picnics I hope this helps some of you bankers this summer hook into some giant fish it is really helpful when you go somewhere you have never fished before and can teach you some new techniques besides a wacky senko. This even offers the opportunity of lucking into a school and catching a monsterous amount of fish.

New jig rod help in 200-250$ range
St cracks are not for me while I admit I may have a biased opinion I have owned a premier and a mojo bass both of witch’s are broken and haven’t been sent back yet and have an uncle who briefly tried a few victory’s for musky fishing and they have been known to snap this was around 2011-2012 so maybe they have gotten better but he has since switched almost exclusively to pre shimano merge loomis I own low end Dobyns Sierra and fury’s for moving baits but am looking for a nicer setup for jigs Texas rigs and football jigs

New jig rod help in 200-250$ range
The main thing I’m wondering is will I still be able to throw a full size brush hog with a 1/4 or 5/16 oz weight on the 744 or the 7’5 heavy zodias I have a Dobyns 733 I use for spinner and chatterbaits and a little light Texas rigs but I feel like it is a tad too noodly I’m leaning towards the Dobyns because I use my gear I don’t intentionally break it and do take care of it but my rods get used and I love the warranty of the Dobyns I’m currently getting a spinning rod fixed my gf snapped lol but I have heard great things about the zodias and exprides

Duckett Jacob Wheeler rods
I have a duckett silverado I bought as a jerkbait rod as I don’t want to spend 250$ on a Dobyns champion that is only for jerkbaits and small spooks. I got a 6’10 medium fast action and it is perfect. It’s super light really sensitive for a 99$ Rod and the action is everything I wanted and more it can throw the small size 9 and 12 rapalla rip stops as well as your normal 110s it also has enough tip to really get bigger jerk-baits to flash but also not too much to where your pulling hooks I love this rod for jerkbaits and small spooks I have hooked around 50 fish and only lost one small one while I tried to flip him a little too green. In my opinion this rod beats the Dobyns fury in weight significantly and has a little more tip than a Dobyns 703 but it loads quite a bit easier it actually made me trade in my 703 for a 733 for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits and swim jigs

Best Reel Under $300 for Jerkbait/Cranking/Topwater?
I bought a Duckett Silverado 6’10 medium fast action and I love it for jerkbaits it is light works the baits really well and was an Awsome replacement for my Dobyns until I can get it sent back “ my girlfriend tried to pick up a lawn chair out of the lake with it “ I put a Lews speed spool on it witch I don’t like but any reel will match it well and it retails at 99$

Hi I’m Logan and I’m addicted to bass fishing
Hey guys long time reader whenever I need advice on stuff but first time poster I’m a bank fisherman but slowly saving for a boat so I can start fishing tournament I live in Nc and love fishing finnesier tactics. I mainly bank fish lakes and love throwing shakeyheads jerkbaits Texas rigs. I believe than bank fisherman should shy away from tactics that are used for covering water and focus on dissecting the small area they have really well. My pb is 9lbs 8 oz caught on a 1/8 oz shakeyhead with a black trick worm. Og because it floats sadly my file was too large I also hold my lake record flathead catfish at 65 lbs and am an avid fly fisherman

Questions about Dobyns dc 766 fr
Hi fellow anglers I’m a banker slowly transitioning into getting more rods and getting into tourneys and one of the rods I’m lacking is a good dock flipping and or football jig rod I’ve been looking at a 744c champion but saw the 766 Fr on sale for 130$ witch is a heck of a discount due to being a bank fisherman I usually throw baits that don’t cover a ton of water but are high percentage when in front of fish like a shakeyhead jerkbait Texas rig but I’m looking for a designated jig rod I have been using a 733 as a jig spinner bait chatterbait swim jig rod but feel it’s a bit underpowered for football jigs flipping jigs and Carolina rigs the thing that scares me is getting a dc for 130$ does anyone own a dc 766fr or should I just spend the extra 100$ and go with a 744 jig special or a kayden 765 or 744 im kinda on the fence I have a few furies for moving baits and love them but like to go kayden and up with baits that rely on sensitivity hope to get some feedback thanks guys

Fluoro Or Mono For Jerkbaits?
Hey guys i use a 6’9” medium fast action rod that is in between a fast and med fast it allows me to work twitch style baits like the vision 110 and shadow rap softly enough to get the to almost walk back and forth out also put enough butt into bit fat rip baits like the Kvd jerk bait I like mono because it gives me a little stretch when they jump or when your trying to land them with 9 hooks in the mouth your trying to grab this combo works really well for my for all types of jerkbaits except the tiny ones that I don’t really use much anyhow
