  1. Glad i posted this here, interesting to see such conflicting info. Definitely shouldve put more time in but oh well. Hopefully ill find some more before they all move into the depths when it gets hot. Not much of a bottom fisher. Anything like ned rig or senko is too slow for me, i always use somsthing moving, been loving the whopper plopper hits. Maybe thats contributing to why i dont catch them when they are around the carp since they are keened in on stuff getting upturned in the mud. Very good info tho, thanks for all the input
  2. Idk if its the carp spawning moreso just seeking cover where the bass happen to be spawning. But maybe thats the case?
  3. Been fishing a train bridge that creates the perfect ambush point and cover for fish. In fall ive found panfish and bass, but in may i have found spawning bass up to 4 pounds. There is a mud flat on the other side. On cloudy days specifically, carp move in and i cant find any bass. My question is this, when carp move in, do the bass move out? Its cloudy today, and i havent found a single bass, but i have been seeing at least a dozen carp. The bass were here less than a week ago?? Did they move bc of the carp? Any thoughts?
  4. Alright, i will get green mirror and amber no mirror. thanks for the all the input i appreciate it
  5. Did you feel like the green tint was adequate in open ocean? If it is that would be great, i can use it both freshwater and when im 70 miles offshore but green lenses say that they are for inshore so thats what makes me question it
  6. I know theres a bunch of different color lenses, but if you could only have 2 that would work for everything, what color would you get? Is amber and blue a good choice? If you dont mind me asking, why are you switching from smith to costa?
  7. I have been looking online for an answer but cant quite find what im looking for... I want to get 2 pairs of smith prescription guides choice but im debating what color lenses to pick. I want to do 1 amber and the other either blue mirror or green, what would you recommend? I would use amber inshore on lakes/rivers then the other pair for ocean fishing, so im thinking blue. Any thoughts?
  8. What would you throw to catch fish on this school of bait? it was taken end of may last year, im assuming bass fry. I used topwater and caught some lmb and smallies in that area
  9. Do bass pick the same spots as the previous year or do they make new beds every year?
  10. Hey everyone, i have been fishing a reservoir that i live close to and have been finding good numbers of bass in certain areas. I know that they are probably loaded on some off shore points, but there are no depth maps. Is there any sort of inventive way to find those offshore spots without being in a boat? I doubt theres much i could do, but im willing to try
  11. Finally got back fishing today, they were indeed biting again
  12. Hey everyone, just curious if anyone has thoughts on how the smoke will affect fishing. I live in northern nj and have been halted from fishing these past two days from the pollution. Temps are lower from reduced sunlight, will it have an effect on bass fishing? I was on a good bite last week, they were all post spawn feeding on the schools of fry
  13. Very smart, never thought to apply algebra to fishing. Will definitely do this on my trip this afternoon?
  14. Hey, just wondering how you all measure the water temp, as i know that the temp in the surface will inevitably be different than further out.
