  1. Awesome thank you sir!
  2. The unit is less than 6 months old. I noticed in the beginning that it seemed to be a little difficult to pop out of the cradle. Over time it has gotten much worse. Today I tried for 20 minutes to get it to release from the cradle with no luck. I was afraid if I put anymore force on it for fear something would break. Ended up taking the whole unit off the mount instead. Its almost as if the cradle is warped and putting everything in a bind. Has anyone else had this problem? If so is there a solution short of contacting Garmin?
  3. I have the Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 Tripleshot. I prefer the 800 frequency setting on side scan most of the time but when I select 800 it seems to default back to 455 on its own quite often. This is the only setting that I cannot seem to lock in. Is the unit faulty or is it just not possible to lock in the frequency? Thanks!
  4. Thanks MN. We will definitely try this and see if it helps. At this point I'm about ready to try anything!
  5. It is hooked directly to a battery which also has the trolling motor connected to it. That battery is connected to another battery in the back of the boat. He had an older model monochrome on it before and didn't have a problem.
  6. Ok, I had a Lowrance Hook2 that my brother now has since I upgraded. The unit was only 6 months old and worked perfectly when I took it off my boat. I had it transom mount and he mounted it on his trolling motor. Like I said, it was set and working perfectly when I took it off my boat. We took it out yesterday for the first time since he hooked it up and it was a total disaster as far as picking anything up. The photo attached is what the screen shows constantly! I tried readjustments but nothing would change it. The transducer "appears" level. Any suggestions on what I should do to correct this issue?
  7. I've been an avid fisherman for 50 years but I'm brand new to fishing braid. I must admit I do prefer it now for my bass fishing. A curiosity question though: I've read a lot about guys (and ladies) using a mono or flouro leader when using braid. Some have various reasons, the main being that fish see the line and spook. I'm using moss green and have had no issues. So for me anyway, the main reason for switching to braid is I can fish a much heavier, stronger line with less worry of a fish breaking off. It would seem that using a leader would defeat the whole purpose of the strength of braid. #40 braid with a #12 leader? Seems like you would be just as well to fish all mono/flouro and be done. Can someone please explain the rationale here? Thanks!
