Left handed vs right handed Baitcasters
i use left handed reels too and am right handed. For me, I want the rod in my "good hand" I work the bait and set the hook with my rod, those are pretty important aspects of fishing, so I want the comfort and power I get from using my dominant side. Cliff

spinnerbait setup
I am currently using a 7' M Lamiglas Excel with a Quantum Kinetic burner and 50lb PP Super Slick. If I feel I need a heavier stick I will use my Powell Squarebill rod, but the Lamiglas gets the job done for most of my spinnerbait fishing. Cliff

Has Your Fishing Style Changed As Your Life Has?
After my visit with Big O this past summer I am slowly gaining this train of thought. I have caught enough dinks, I want to catch bigger fish, even if that means taking a few more skunks. It is showing, my catches in the first month of this year are few, but, all but one fish have been bigger than average for my home lake. All that being said, I plan to get the boys out on the boat more this year for a day full of dink slaying!!! Cliff

How Do You Store Your Crankbaits, Depth Or Size?
Holy crap y'all have alot of cranks!! I have one standard size plano box for squarebills, jerkbaits, and traps, then another for my mid to deep cranks. I like to keep several baits in the size and color that work for me, so I don't have alot of different cranks, just multiples of a few.

You know thats right!!! I don't think there is a better feeling in fishing!!

Weather And Jigs
I would start by flippin that jig into the deepest brush/wood I could find. Then drag it around the channels you mentioned.

Weather And Jigs
What are the water temps? I caught my PB (see outings section) yesterday in less than 10 feet of water. Our air temps have been similar to what you mentioned, the water was around 52 degrees yesterday and very muddy. I would say flip it around cover and also try dragging it around some deeper (10-20 feet) ledges/dropoffs. Don't forget to make multiple pitches to the same target and GO SLOW!!!! My $.02 Cliff

New Pb!!!!!
Yeah I will. She didn't think it was funny when I gave her a kiss AFTER I gave the fish a kiss!!!!

New Pb!!!!!
Thanks. That jig IS money. I have plenty to last me the year (I think), it will be the only jig I throw this year. I was hyped, I fished for another hour and called it quits, I couldn't concentrate!! I just wanted to get home and check out the pics. IMO, that is a HUGE fish for Lake Waco, it is certainly not known for being a big bass lake. Hoping I can get a few more in that class this year though. Cliff

LOL...Big O personally gave me that hat and it is signed by James Niggameyer.

Mixing Brands?
I have 5 Revos, and 1 each Shimano, Daiwa, and Quantum. My rods are 7 Lamiglas and 1 Powell. The only problem I have is switching to the Curado. That thing is just so small and light it takes some adjustment. Don't get me wrong I like it, just a bit different. That being said, if it wasn't for sales too good to pass up, I would have all Revos.

New Pb!!!!!
Makeshift stringer, slow ride back to ramp, stopped often to be sure fish was ok. She never showed any signs of dying and swam away strong. I am confident the fish will survive. Now, if it had been August and 90* water temps, I wouldn't have done it.

New Pb!!!!!
The lake has come way up in the last few days, several feet, and a front came in yesterday, but I figured I would go anyway. I was flippin the newly flooded timber in about 5-8 feet of water. Visibility was about 6 inches or so. Caught this fat girl on a 3/8 Big O Brush jig from Siebert Outdoors in Falcon Craw with matching Falcon Craw Rage Craw. She was layed up against a huge log. I was immediately hung after the hookset, but I didn't give her no slack and she finally swam out. She weighed in at 8-13!!!! Special thanks to my wife Sarah, who drove the 17 miles to the ramp so I could have a decent picture of my PB!!! The fish was released in good health. Gear: Lamiglas Excel 7116C Revo SX-L 50lb PP

What A Shocking Work Day
I have had a few minor zaps in my lifetime. The one I will never forget is when I was plugging the clothes dryer for my dad, he couldn't fit behind it or something, don't really remember. Anyway, I must have had some skin touching the prongs on that big plug cuz that sucker knocked the crap out of me!! I think I was 11 or 12 years old. Cliff

What Is The Meaning Behind Your Screen Name?
When I was in high school my dad bought an old busted up 14ft row boat for me to use on Cayuga Lake. He banged out the dents, patched a hole, painted it red and put on a 7.5hp Merc. I named it "the red torpedo" The forums made a change way back the said your login name couldn't be the same as your screen name so I shortened it to red. I don't really like it, maybe I will change it. Cliff

Lake Fork Live Magic Shad
I used to kill them on this bait in the white color on golf course tanks and my buddies tanks. Not a shad in any of them as far as I know. Interestingly, I have never used them on the main lake I fish which is loaded with shad!!

Rage Tail Craws
The only thing on the back of my jigs these days is a rage craw. If I am using a plain craw, it is the same!! I bite off about a half inch for using on a jig.

Jigs Or Flipping?
Jig for sure, as everyone else has stated. I have two tied on now 100% of the time. One on a flippin stick for fishing flooded timber, the other is for football jigs fishing in deeper water in rocky areas. Cliff

Wind
The wind is my enemy. Not because it makes the fishing bad, but I am in an 8' Pelican so even a sleight breeze blows me everywhere. The fishing might be better on windy days, but not for me!! Cliff

Recommend Me A Good Scale!
I have had terrible luck with both Rapala and Berkley scales so I am steering clear of those. I am not tournament fishing or anything, I just want something to weigh my bigger catches. it would be nice to actually know the weight of my PB!!

Recommend Me A Good Scale!
The gripper part is not as important as accuracy. I was looking at the Accu Cull digital scale that TW carries. Any thoughts on it? Cliff

Recommend Me A Good Scale!
Got a few bucks for helping out the in-laws, I want a good scale. I have about $50 or so to spend. I would prefer one with the lip grip deal rather than the hook. Up to 15lbs would be fine. What would you recommend? Thanks Cliff

Revo Sx Worth Picking Up? Below Retail
I don't even own an SX but I know that is a great deal. I do own Revo S's and I am sure the SX is even better.
